However, its Shao text has been accused by some netizens of racial prejudice. They also accused Blizzard of being outright racist, and Blizzard said he was tired.
The new World of Warcraft version of the race is set in a tradition since Legion Returns and Battle for Azeroth, and the introductory pages include race traditions, hometowns, equipment, leaders, mounts, and more.
The Orc page, while mentioning Sal and the expansion process he led, describes the current leadership as "to be determined." The Forsaken page removes all descriptions of the betrayed queen Sylvanas and lists the Dark City as the capital. The goblins are described as destructive megalomaniacs trying to take over the world, which makes them look more like villains than warriors. These contents have been accused by netizens of racial prejudice.
Prior to the second volume of the Warcraft Encyclopedia, Exploring Azeroth: Kalim, the history of the tribe was accused of alluding to areas of real-worldly developing backward countries, describing some cultural and racial biases, and the book was later forced to take down under pressure from the community.
Although tribes are made up of races described as villains in fantasy games, such as orcs, minotaurs, trolls, and goblins, the tribes themselves are not evil, attracting many players. If Blizzard wants to live up to its promise to make World of Warcraft more inclusive, it also needs to avoid stereotypes. But overall, the current text is at least clean and refreshing.
