"Son of refugees" became president
Moon was born in South Korea in 1953 with two sons and three daughters, and his parents were refugees, and during the Korean War, he went south to escape the war. When he was a child, his family's living conditions were poor, and in order to eat mixed food, he began to work for the family from a young age, helped people deliver briquettes, and even poured scalper tickets with his mother. In middle school, Moon Jae-in became a problem student, addicted to tobacco and alcohol, and it was naturally expected that he would fail the college entrance examination. After failing the college entrance examination, he began to study seriously, and a year later he was admitted to the famous Kyung Hee University to study law. In 1975, Moon Jae-in, then a junior, was imprisoned for participating in a student movement against former South Korean President Park Chung-hee, his "predecessor" Park Geun-hye's father... After his release from prison, he was forcibly drafted into the army. After the assassination of Park Chung-hee, south Korean politics changed, and the young Moon Jae-in was able to return to school and continue his studies. However, he returned to campus and was still "restless" and was arrested and imprisoned again for participating in demonstrations. Moon Jae-in joined the army in August 1975 and was honored as the "Best Special Operations ServiceMan" by the South Korean Army Special Operations Force, and the commander of the Army Special Operations Brigade at the time was Chun Doo-hwan, who later became the president of South Korea. Because of his participation in the student movement, Moon Jae-in, who studied law, did not become a judge or prosecutor.

Moon returned to Busan and worked as a lawyer. Here, he met a young lawyer who was 7 years his senior, and the two of them were like-minded, and they hit it off and opened a law firm together. Moon Jae-in would not have thought that this "little friend" was his future "nobleman" - South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun. He even said in his autobiography that becoming a lawyer was like being "destined" to meet Roh Moo-hyun.

In 1988, Roh was elected to parliament and entered politics. In 2002, Roh won the South Korean presidential election. During this period, Moon Jae-in has been accompanying him around, playing the role of Roh Moo-hyun's "shadow". Although Moon also held important positions at the Blue House after Roh Moo-hyun came to power, he was not much interested in politics at the time. After Roh Moo-hyun stepped down in 2008, he also decided to "return to the countryside". In May 2009, Mr. Roh committed suicide by jumping off a cliff after being caught up in a bribery scandal with his family, and Moon once again entered the public eye. He was calm during his handling of Roh Moo-hyun's posthumous affairs, leaving a strong impression on the outside world as "Roh Moo-hyun's political successor." In 2011, on the second anniversary of Roh's death, Moon embarked on a campaign trail.
On June 17, 2012, Moon Jae-in officially announced his candidacy for the 18th term of President of South Korea. Although he received the support of many young people, he eventually lost to Park Geun-hye and passed the presidency. After that, Moon was briefly away from politics and faded from public view.
In April 2016, Moon's Common Democratic Party became the largest party in Parliament. In October of the same year, the Park Geun-hye scandal of "cronies interfering in politics" was exposed. With the impeachment of Park Geun-hye and South Korea's election warm-up period at the end of 2016, Moon Jae-in became the hottest candidate and soared all the way. In the end, not surprisingly, Moon was elected president of South Korea.
