Wang Dapeng is good at shaping the image of spirit beasts, mainly including deer, dragons, horses, tigers and other common creative themes in ancient Chinese traditional arts. During his eight-year career in the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Wang Dapeng received a systematic education of the academic school, which enabled him to lay a solid foundation for the realistic figuration of sculpture. In the process of study and creation in the academy, he has traveled all over the country, deeply inspecting temples, Taoist temples and museums in various places, immersing himself in the study of ancient Chinese statue art, and drawing essence from the high-quality shapes created by these predecessors, and carrying out contemporary creation and transformation.

Wang Shaojun, former deputy secretary of the party committee and professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, said that Wang Dapeng has a high level of understanding and is very skilled in the language of sculpture and the mastery of sculpture techniques. He has conducted in-depth research on traditional Chinese plastic arts, and each work has a clear provenance and historical origin. "Ruiwu", in the aesthetics of Chinese, in the culture of blessing, there is a specific cultural orientation and value pursuit, and all things are expected to be smooth and auspicious, especially the plastic arts have beautiful forms. Wang Dapeng's works take traditional Chinese culture as the core, perfectly integrate the oriental concept of shape and aesthetics, and his works have a strong visual impact and artistic appeal.
