According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa is close to signing Everton defender Di negé, who are confident of bringing in the player for a transfer fee of around £25 million.
As part of the deal, Villa winger Elgazi is likely to join Everton as Gerrard looks to make changes to the squad in the second half of the season in an effort to secure a European spot. In addition to El gazi, Trezeguet, who is fighting for Egypt in the African Cup of Nations, is also thought to be able to leave this month.
