After the news of Wei Zhongxian's escape reached the imperial court, Zhu Youjian was furious and immediately ordered Wei Zhongxian to be arrested. At this time, Wei Zhongxian was like a dog that lost his family, and he could not even escape the pursuit and killing of the imperial court. He committed suicide at the inn shortly after.
It is said that before Wei Zhongxian committed suicide, he once said: "After I die, Daming will die." Although there are certain laws for the change of dynasties, the Ming Dynasty is really as Wei Zhongxian said, Daming is facing a crisis of internal and external troubles after losing Wei Zhongxian, and these Donglin Party members in the imperial court at this time are some people who can only pay lip service.
At the end of the Ming Dynasty, faced with Li Zicheng's rebellion, the invasion of the Manchu Qing, and the ming dynasty's treasury was not sufficient, Zhu Youjian discovered how good Wei Zhongxian's existence was.
