The Daily Mail reported that Chelsea are negotiating with Lyon to recall Emerson in advance.
Chelsea are looking for left-backs to fill the gap in Chilwell's injury, and Tuchel had hoped to bring in Di negne, but the club did not favour bringing in left-backs on a permanent basis. Emerson's current ownership remains with Chelsea, who plays for Lyon on loan.
Because Emerson's loan contract included a buyout clause, Chelsea could not have recalled the Italian full-back. Lyon are not expected to have enough money to buy out Emerson at the end of the season, but they hope to find a suitable replacement and release Emerson, and Paris Saint-Germain's Courzais has been recommended to Lyon.
