Tongxuan Temple, formerly known as Cimiao Temple, is located in the foothills of Jiangmei Mountain, Zhuqiao Village, Jinxiang Town, Lufeng City, surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea on one side, such as Bengkou Baozhu and inlaid Jiangmei Mountain, with a total area of 2500 square meters, of which the construction area is 1200 square meters. The environment is quiet and natural, the scenery is beautiful, and it is a good place to cultivate self-cultivation and cultivate sentiments.

The Tongxuan Temple was founded in the third year of the Qianlong Dynasty (1738) by Li Maoqian, a Gongsheng who lived in Jiangmei Village at the time, and Mr. Cheng Ziwen, a Jianzhou geographer who traveled to this area. Originally, only one hall was built to enshrine the Cihangdao people. The Ci Hang Dao people were Taoist jurchen gods and immortals, and the Shang Dynasty was enlightened. After the prevalence of Buddhism, due to the ideological tendency of the confluence of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism, Chinese folk generally equated cihangdao and Guanyin bodhisattvas. Li Gongsheng and Cheng Dishi were charitable and enthusiastic about education, and opened private schools here to educate their children. It is highly praised by the villagers of Balian.

In the eighth year of Xianfeng (1858), under the auspices of the elderly elder of Balian Township, the temple was expanded and built according to the situation, forming three halls in the front, middle and back (respectively dedicated to the Cihangdao people, the Jade Emperor God and the old mother of Lishan), two rows of boxes on the left and right, as the Hall of Worship, and built a health pond in front of the view, with a rockery in the pool, carved beams and paintings, and traditional porcelain stickers. The overall building integrates religious buildings, garden buildings and residential buildings, and has distinct local architectural characteristics. It fully reflects the superb architectural art and exquisite sculpture art of the people of Lufeng. During the National Revolution, the temple became a secret stronghold for the activities of Lu Feng's underground party. In October 1927, the Nanchang Uprising turned into Lufeng under Chaoshan Province, and the view became the contact point for the underground party to monitor the movements of the Kuomintang reactionaries and local security groups. Li Xiu and other party members, together with Huang Xiuwen, secretary of the Nantang District CPC Committee, and Yang Shiling, secretary of the Shantou Municipal CPC Committee, received Zhou Enlai, Ye Ting, and Nie Rongzhen, leaders of the Nanchang rebel army. At that time, Comrade Zhou Enlai was seriously ill and had limited mobility, and in order to avoid the search and arrest of the Kuomintang troops, he stayed in the home of Huang Xiuwen, Huang Cuoliao, Jinxiang, to recuperate, and after more than ten days of recuperation, his condition improved slightly. On the evening of November 23, under the secret arrangements of the organization, Zhou Enlai and other leaders, escorted by Huang Xiuwen, Yang Shiling, and others, ventured down the sea from the beach of Jinxiangzhou Zhucun to Hong Kong by fishing boat, and then from Hong Kong back to the Shanghai Central Headquarters to continue leading the revolution. The great leaders successfully escaped from danger in the Golden Chamber and embarked on a new revolutionary journey. The Tongxuan Temple, by virtue of its geographical advantages, provided revolutionary heroes with the convenience of monitoring enemy situations, secret communication, and hiding for recuperation. The people of Hailufeng, who "dared to be the first and made selfless dedication," continued to struggle heroically for the revolution, fought tenaciously, and followed the former servants.

In 1932, in order to cooperate with Chiang Kai-shek, the Guangdong warlords launched the fourth "encirclement and suppression" campaign against the central revolutionary base areas. In the arduous anti-"encirclement and suppression" struggle, the Red Army failed in attacking Kuitan, and after more than twenty wounded and sick people retreated to the village of Jinxiang Daliao, it was difficult to conceal and heal their wounds because of the rampant reactionary activities. Li Zaizai was responsible for the diet of the wounded and sick, and after more than a month, the wounded and sick returned to the team and continued to devote themselves to the revolution.

Between 1953 and 1958, the Tongxuan Temple was destroyed, the pillars and beams were diverted for other purposes, and the Taoist priest Daogu ran away, leaving a ruin, which is regrettable.

In 1988, the Tongxuanguan Restoration Group was formed by Li Xinxin and others to prepare for the construction, and the reconstruction was carried out according to the original building scale. In 1998, it was approved by the Lufeng Municipal People's Government to open up, and the "Religious Activity Site Registration Certificate" and the "Legal Person Registration Certificate" were issued. The restoration team, together with the elderly of Balian Township, jointly hired the Taoist priest Huang Chengquan to stay in Tongxuanguan to manage daily affairs as the Taoist chief and Daogu. The zodiac chief Yuhua Dengxian is now inherited by his disciple Fang Xinli Daochang, who presides over the daily affairs of the Tongxuan Temple.

Time flies, the story is still the same, the view is nostalgic, and the fish and water are deep. At this moment, we are jointly following the footsteps of the Red Army, recalling the history written in blood, and remembering the revolutionary martyrs in our hearts. It is precisely because countless revolutionary predecessors sacrificed their lives for righteousness and their blood stained rivers and mountains that they can have today's langlang and clean work, the happiness and well-being of the people, and the prosperity of the country.

General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out: "The people are the creators of history, and the masses are the real heroes. "Tongxuanguan is a place where Taoists practice and where the people pray for blessings. In the revolutionary era, the army led by the Communist Party can win the support, support and protection of the broad masses of the people, including the Taoists, which is enough to witness the love between the revolutionary army and the masses of the people. In the new era, we must not forget our original intentions, keep our mission firmly in mind, strengthen our ideals and convictions, inherit the red tradition, read patriotic feelings, cherish the aspiration of serving the country, practice the ability to strengthen the country, be upward and good, strive for self-improvement, and write with ordinary hands the extraordinary things that belong to our times.
