The popularity of new energy has made the plug-and-mix that has been quiet for two years once again become a hot spot in the market, and first-line independent brands such as BYD, Great Wall, Geely, and Changan have successively come up with their own technologies, and related new cars have aroused great concern in the market.
On January 7, Chery's high-end brand Xingtu also joined the plug-and-mix camp, and its technology was officially named "Star Core Power ET-i Full Engine Super Mix", and Xingtu Chasing Wind became the first new car equipped with this plug-and-mix technology. According to official information, Xingtu Plug-in Hybrid Technology comes with the bonus of "3 engines, 3 gears, 9 modes and 11 speeds", which integrates six technical highlights of DHT, full-scene drive, high transmission efficiency, intelligent travel, intelligent electronic control drive, and super endurance, and is applicable to all scenarios.
How to understand ET-i?
From the manufacturer's technical data, E in the Star Core Power ET-i full-engine supermix technology represents the gene source of the Xingtu brand, that is, the Xingtu brand name EXEED and the new energy strategy Electric; T is the technical support, translated as Technology, representing the advantages of Xingtu new energy technology; i is intelligent drive, representing the value system of the Xingtu brand.
At the press conference, the technical staff spent about 40 minutes to specifically explain the star core power ET-i full engine supermix technology, but many professional languages may make consumers scratch their heads, so the author will simply "translate" and share with you the core technology of the star core power ET-i full engine supermix system of Xingtu to see what its technical level is.

At the press conference, in order to let everyone remember this hybrid system faster, the host used the number "33911" to bring in the advantages of this system. The most direct understanding is "3 engines, 3 gears, 9 modes and 11 speeds".
Here,"3 engines" refers to the intelligent combination of internal combustion engine and dual-drive motor under the power architecture. Among them, the first "engine" refers to the 1.5T engine, with a maximum power of 115 kW and a maximum torque of 230 Nm. The other two engines are two motors integrated in the DHT gearbox, one of which has a power of 55 kW and a torque of 160 Nm, and the second motor has a power of 70 kW and a torque of 115 Nm.
"3 gears" refers to 3 physical gears, which can cope with more operating conditions. For example, the 1st gear is designed for low-speed vehicles, the 2nd gear is for medium-speed driving, and the 3rd gear is used for high-speed driving. The advantage is that the power connection is smoother under various working conditions, and the abrupt feeling of engine intervention will not be felt. At the same time, it also ensures the characteristics of low fuel consumption when driving at high speeds.
"9 mode" means that the system has 9 working modes, including 9 modes such as single motor pure electric, dual motor pure electric, engine direct drive, parallel drive, parking charging, and driving charging. The advantage is that under the control of the intelligent system, according to different road conditions and working conditions, the most suitable mode can be driven, so as to achieve the effect of low energy consumption and strong power. For example, under urban conditions, a series range increase mode is formed between the engine and the motor to achieve the effect of fuel saving.
The last "11" refers to 11 kinds of intelligent switching of driving conditions. In 11 working conditions such as starting, medium and low speed, elevated, overtaking, red light, congestion, highway, long-distance travel, mountain road, high-speed steering, ice and snow/mud/sand and gravel, the balance of power and energy consumption is achieved. As we all know, the starting section of the vehicle is the lowest engine efficiency and the fuel consumption is particularly high, at this time, the vehicle is driven by dual motors pure electric, which can ensure low energy consumption and smooth driving, especially in the case of traffic jams, this mode is very practical. At high speed, the 3 engines can all participate in the power output, and the maximum output torque of the four-wheel drive model can reach 510 Nm.
It is reported that the efficiency of this system is very high, even in the low power mode, the fuel saving rate is more than 50%, the fuel consumption of 100 kilometers can be controlled below 5 liters, if it is a city condition, the fuel saving rate is more than 55%, even if it is a high-speed working condition, the fuel saving rate is also more than 35%.
What are its core competencies?
Domestic consumers may be the most demanding in the world, not only to be strong, smooth, fuel-efficient, but also low prices, Xingtu this supermix system may be able to meet all these needs. According to reports, the maximum power of the two-wheel drive version of this supermix system reaches 240kW, the maximum wheel torque exceeds 4000 Nm, and the zero hundred acceleration is less than 7 seconds; the total power of the four-wheel drive model is 338kW, the maximum wheel side torque exceeds 6300 Nm, and the zero hundred acceleration time is less than 5 seconds.
Here to explain what is the wheel torque, the wheel torque is the engine power through the transmission of transmission and main reducer torque to the wheel. For example, if the maximum torque of the engine is 300 Nm, the minimum gearbox transmission ratio is 4.7:1, and the main reducer ratio is 4 (generally between 3.5-5), then the torque to the wheel is 300 Nm× 4.7 ×4 = 5640 Nm, of course, this theoretical number, because the power loss of the transmission system is also considered, and this is the sum of the torque data obtained by all the driving wheels. With the help of TSD dual-shaft drive technology, the two motors are driven separately, and there is almost no power interruption and power loss during the shift, which brings smoothness comparable to pure electric models.
As for long endurance and fuel saving, the official said that the transmission efficiency of the star core power ET-i full-engine supermix reached 97.6%, the comprehensive fuel consumption was only 1L/100km (the fuel consumption of the poor electricity was 4.8L/100km), the pure electric endurance was 105 kilometers, and the comprehensive endurance could reach 1000 kilometers.
