On March 12, Dr. Sun Yat-sen died of illness. According to Sun Yat-sen's wishes before his death, he was buried in Nanjing Purple Mountain after his death. On May 29 of the same year, Song Qingling died of illness in Beijing, and in accordance with her last words, her ashes were buried on the east side of the mausoleum of Song Jiashu and his wife at the Shanghai Cemetery of all nations. In 2003, Song Meiling died in New York and was buried at Fincliff Cemetery at the age of 106.
