Sun Suxin, an expert in endocrinology: Scientific out-of-hospital management is the key to diabetes reversal

Professor Sun Suxin, a well-known endocrinologist, former chief physician of the Department of Endocrinology of Zhongnan Hospital Affiliated to Wuhan University, member of the Standing Committee of the Hubei Endocrinology Society of the Chinese Medical Association, and member of the Guangdong Biology Expert Team, recently said in a public lecture on diabetes that diabetics must "desaccharide" and must maintain a healthy lifestyle in daily life. Scientific out-of-hospital management is a necessary part of achieving diabetes reversal.

Sun Suxin, an expert in endocrinology: Scientific out-of-hospital management is the key to diabetes reversal

Sun Suxin said that China is the largest country with diabetes, with 1 in every 8 Chinese people with diabetes, and the incidence trend is still rising. The Department of Endocrine Metabolic Diseases is actually a highly specialized specialty, although it is an abnormality of endocrine hormones secreted by small endocrine glands, but it involves not only the endocrine glands themselves, but also affects the patient's important organ functions throughout the body, and physiological functions will also be disordered. Therefore, endocrine hormones are indispensable life hormones for the human body to survive, maintain normal physiology, normal metabolism and human eugenics and reproduction. Generally speaking, people are not easy to identify endocrine diseases early, feel unwell and accustomed to first go to digestion, breathing, cardiovascular and other major specialties for specialist treatment, when repeated visits and treatment effects are not good, they will be transferred to a strong specialized endocrinology department. Many doctors in grass-roots hospitals have certain recognition and processing capabilities for digestion, respiration and cardiovascular specialties, but endocrine and metabolic diseases are often not properly handled in time due to strong specialization, resulting in many patients from grass-roots hospitals experiencing long-term misdiagnosis pain.

Professor Sun Suxin said that because diabetes is a lifestyle disease, the dietary requirements for diabetic patients are to control the intake of total calories, which can be determined according to the individual's body size, fat and thin, age and activity to determine how much to eat each meal, but also to take the form of eating less and more meals, appropriately reduce the amount of food for meals, put the part of the uniform part between meals or before going to bed late as a meal, which can avoid postprandial hyperglycemia and prevent hypoglycemia at night.

Diabetics should also have a certain order of eating, usually soup is preferred, followed by vegetables, followed by meat and eggs, and finally eat staple foods, so that the blood sugar after eating can be maintained at a stable level. In addition to controlling calorie intake, the diabetic diet should also take into account the balance of diet, and consume various nutrients such as sugars, proteins, fats, and minerals in proportion. Now, some intelligent software can already monitor in a digital way whether the calories of the food eaten by patients exceed the standard, and then give patients dietary suggestions. This is very beneficial for out-of-hospital lifestyle management of patients.
