Located in Lane 8 of North Sichuan Road in Hongkou District, It is one of the newest and hottest cultural and tourism landmarks in Shanghai. In this newly renovated century-old historical building complex, the first store in the country of "Yuyin Society" is located in one of the old buildings of Shikumen that is as old as old. On January 7th, Peking Opera master Wang Peiyu's Peking Opera Compound Experience and Inheritance Space was officially opened here. "Yuyin Society" is a Peking Opera studio founded by Wang Peiyu in 2015, dedicated to the inheritance, promotion and dissemination of Peking Opera culture, and this time "Yuyin Society" opened in the "Jinchao 8 Lane" store, which is also its first time to go to the entity.
Walking into the shikumen with green bricks and red bricks, the courtyard is a Chinese-style flowing water mountain stone, and the layout of the whole space is a combination of Chinese and Western Styles. In the glass booth of the store, the arrow coat with gold thread on a black background is very eye-catching, the hand-embroidered golden dragon pattern is dazzling, and the props and costumes commonly used in Peking Opera are displayed on the side, as well as many cultural and creative derivatives of Yuyin Society and Peking Opera teaching materials.
In the space on the second floor, a multi-functional space that can teach Peking Opera is crowded, and at the opening ceremony called "The Return of the Tide", Wang Peiyu introduced that this physical concept store will become a new art education base of "Yuyin Society", undertaking a series of functions such as art education, collection display, theme curation, fan salon, cultural and creative incubation, etc. In the future, it will be built into a new platform for national art learning and exchange, and linked with the Yuyin Pavilion of the Ancient Opera Building in Baoshan District operated by the "Yuyin Society".

Peking Opera art education will be an important function of this space. It is reported that on January 8, the children's Peking Opera education project "Peking Opera Small Class" will be officially launched here, and more than 20 primary students in the first phase will be more intuitively close to traditional culture, learn and experience the charm of the country in this course.
Wang Peiyu said that since 2018, the "Yuyin Society" has entered the primary and secondary school campuses to teach Peking Opera in the form of club classes, and has so far covered more than 6,000 students in more than 40 schools in 10 districts of Shanghai. Last year, the "Yuyin Society" officially prepared for the children's Peking Opera education project, named "Peking Opera Small Science Class", in order to pay tribute to the famous "Fu Liancheng" in the history of Peking Opera and the opera classes that cultivated many people. The educational content of the "Peking Opera Small Class" is the integration of the experience of the past 5 years, hoping to be "both systematic and grounded". The young students trained hope that they can send opera professionals upwards, and also hope to cultivate a new generation of opera audiences, and guide more people to taste China's aesthetic interests and appreciate the beauty of the national essence.
"Many people say that I am a slash youth, in fact, I am already a slash middle-aged, but in addition to the actor and peking opera communicator, I probably have another slash now, the first principal of the 'Peking Opera Small Class'." Wang Peiyu laughed and said that Hongkou District has a special origin for her, she came to Shanghai to study in the early years, her mother opened a Suzhou candy shop near here to subsidize the family, her aunt and grandmother also lived not far away, and the alley on North Sichuan Road was her childhood memory of Shanghai. Now that I am back here again, watching parents bring their children to participate in the interview of the small class, I feel that I have traveled through time and space to see my childhood self.
In the future, she hopes to continue to try ways and platforms that are more in line with the current young people's favorite, and spread and popularize the art of Peking Opera. While providing children with interesting and rich Peking Opera experience content, "Xiaokeban" also has a traditional cultural experience that is not only Peking Opera, from which to feel that "the national essence is actually very fun".
