For most travelers, the sea, food and history of Naples are the main reasons to linger. This is the birthplace of "My Sun", "Return to Sorrento", and the origin of pizza. Naples presents a different face throughout the year, showing to travelers from all over the world.

Naples is the largest city in southern Italy and one of the most populous in Italy, rich in lemons and grapes. At the same time, it is an important tourist city in the Mediterranean, known as the "City of Sunshine and Joy". It is a source of inspiration for many artists and musicians, perhaps because of Mount Vesuvius or perhaps because of the simplicity of Naples.
Line in Naples
Vesuvius
Mount Vesuvius is currently dormant and once destroyed the famous city of Pompeii in 79 years after a major eruption in the park. Vesuvius has erupted many times, making it one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world, most recently in 1944.
How to get there:
1. Transfer to Naples Central Station (Garibaldi)
2. Take the train bound for Sorento at The Naples Train Station and get off at Ercolano-Scavi
Departure timetable
Pay attention to the direction of not reversing ~
3. On the left-hand side after exiting the station is the ticket office, where you can buy bus tickets to and from the volcano plus tickets for Mount Vesuvius.
Opening Hours:
June-Aug 09:00-18:30,
April, May, September, October 09:00-17:00,
January, March, November, December 09:00-15:00
Entrance fees: 10 euros
Tips: The overall play time of Naples Volcano needs to be counted as the time to and from the volcano in the listing + the time spent playing in the volcano. In Naples, I am not familiar with life, and it is inevitable that I will encounter small episodes such as asking for directions or sitting on the station, and it is normal to delay for an hour and a half an hour. So if the main purpose of your trip is to "conquer" Mount Vesuvius, you may wish to set aside 1 day oh ~ otherwise toss until the afternoon to reach the destination, encounter the park closed (we went to travel in November, the volcano opening hours are 9:00-15:00), but there are infinite regrets ~
New Castle
Castello Nueva, also known as The Château de Anjou, was built by the sea in the 13th century by order of Charles I of Anjou, King of Naples, and the castle has been used for several dynasties and has long served as the royal residence of Naples. The New Castle is a strong medieval fortress with five huge circular towers, and like most castles, the New Castle has a hall, chapel, prison and royal bedchamber, the largest of which is the Baron's Hall (La Sala dei Baroni), which features a Gothic ribbed arch at the top of the hall.
The upper two floors of the castle have been converted into the Museo Civico, which exhibits a number of paintings and sculptures from the 15th and 18th centuries, most of which are religious themes. The second floor of the castle is also a very nice sea observation deck. You can see Mount Vesuvius in the distance
Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 09:30-19:00, last 18:00 entry, closed on Sundays
Entrance fees: 6.5 euros
Egg Castle
Castel della Dell'Ovo is the oldest castle in Naples, and according to legend, the poet Virgil placed an egg under the foundation and predicted that if the egg was broken, the buildings on the foundation would disappear and bring disaster to Naples. Later, the villa was gradually converted into a military fortress, which is the castle seen today.
Whether the rumors about Virgil and The Egg are true or not is unknown, but the only certainty is that the castle still stands on the sea after more than a thousand years of medieval wars and dynastic changes. Egg Castle is located by the sea and the view is very nice, climb the castle, by the window, you can enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean Sea and sea sunsets.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 09:30-19:30 in summer, 09:30-18:30 in winter Monday to Friday, 09:30-14:00 on weekends and holidays, last entry 45 minutes before closing
Admission: Free
Umberto Promenade
If you want to shop in Naples, this is the largest shopping mall in Naples. The roof of the promenade is made of glass, and when you look up, you will see the glass glowing blue in the sky, and there are mosaic mosaics under the glass of the central dome, which is very beautiful ~ so even if you don't plan to shop, this is a place worth visiting.
Food in Naples
Pizzeria Brandi
This is also known as the first pizza in Naples.
Legend has it that Princess Margaret ate pizza in this shop, and Raffaele Esposito, the baker who made pizza for Princess at that time, worked in this shop, so Brandi can be described as the world's first pizza, absolutely old brand ~ we chose to take it back to the hotel to eat, a huge Margaret pizza only costs 3.5 euros, no one is valued!
As the birthplace of pizza, it is said that this food was originally only the food of the lower classes of Naples, and later became famous for being favored by the Italian princess Margaret, and gradually became popular with the nobility.
Nowadays, pizza has become a popular cuisine all over the world, but only in its hometown of Naples, the taste and taste of pizza are the most authentic. Among them, Margaret Pizza, named after Princess Margaret, is a representative of Neapolitan pizza.
Made with tomatoes, mozzarella, nine-tiered towers and olive oil, this pizza has a green, white and red appearance (the color of the Italian flag) and is not to be missed when you come to Naples.
Passion Of Sofi
I don't know why, such an excellent street fast food store, actually public reviews, budget tips are not included.
This is also what we stumble upon and choose to try as we wander around. Mainly to see a lot of people coming into the store to buy, especially the locals. Then there is a large paper cone, which contains all kinds of strange snacks, which are very curious to watch and have a lot of appetite.
There are only three types of menus, pure fish platters, pure snack platters, and fish and snack mixed platters. We certainly chose the last one, 6 euros, a full big portion, two people with a share, and another beer, it was perfect!
The portions are quite large, the taste is also excellent, salty and fresh enough, the variety is diverse, if you come to Naples, come to toledo Street, you must not miss such a down-to-earth local food!
Caffe Roma Toledo
When you come to Naples, you must taste in addition to Margaret's pizza, and then there is the dessert baba (a very soft dessert made of wine, sweet but not greasy, many small shops selling desserts can buy it) and Chiba crisp (shaped like a shell, the inner shell sandwich is made of lemon and milk, invented by the nuns of the Convent of the Amalfi Coast, which is a very famous dessert in Naples).
Diagonally opposite the hotel staying this cafe roma is supposed to be a chain of coffee shops, which have been seen before in Rome.
Go inside and browse around, find that both desserts are for sale, and buy them to taste.
Baba is a cake soaked in rum, although it is not particularly greasy, but it really belongs to the sweet taste. After one bite, the cake is indeed fluffy, and with it comes a strong aroma of rum. If you are a sweets lover and don't mind the taste of wine, this should be a better choice.
The thousand pages of puff pastry are shaped like shells, with lemon-flavored cream cheese traps in it, the sweetness is relatively moderate, the outer puff pastry part is very crispy, and overall, baba is more delicious.
Baba we bought with cream berries, 2 euros a, a thousand pages of crisp 1.4 euros, not too expensive, but also an experience of Authentic Neapolitan desserts!
Gay-Odin
The shop was a testimonial seen on the Budget Tips, saying that the handmade chocolates and ice cream in the shop were fabulous.
Walking from the hotel, about 500 meters away, the shop is next to the Umberto promenade, which is very small and the chocolates are mainly in bulk. Because I personally don't love chocolate very much, I mainly come to experience the taste of ice cream.
The waiters are two very kind aunts, English is very good, communication barrier-free. When I saw that I was hesitant in front of a variety of flavors of ice cream, I took out a small spoon and recommended several flavors for me to try first.
In the end, I chose chocolate and pistachio flavors (2 balls for a total of 2.5 euros), and the pistachio-flavored ice cream has a heavy milk taste, but because of the nuts, it is not greasy and delicious. Dark chocolate is really bitter and pure enough, if you don't like the taste that is too bitter, you can consider other chocolate flavors, such as medium purity, or orange flavor.

In various italian cities, such self-service coffee machines can be found everywhere. It only takes a few yuan to enjoy a cup of fragrant coffee.
From south to north in Italy, the price of self-service coffee will rise, from the initial 0.4 euros, and then directly doubled. Still, it's a good deal!
Naples, rich in lemons, has a lemon liqueur that is loved by the local people. We also bought a bottle with an alcohol content of 28 degrees, and the bitter taste was really unblessed... Everyone should buy with caution
Live in Sicily
Our hotel is close to the bustling Toledo Street, nevertheless, after 8 p.m., the shops on the street have begun to close one after another, it is really a "safe and self-contained" city ah ~ like to shop you, in this city, you have to be an early bird ~ ~
Hotel introduction, you can view the historical article: 12 days 8 cities, Italy hotel experience report to you!
Tips
For the metro in Naples, it is recommended to purchase a TIC pass, which costs 1.5 euros for unlimited buses, trams and metros within 90 minutes, and 4.5 euros for a one-day public transport pass. Tickets can be purchased directly at the self-service ticket machines at the subway station.
Near the hotel we stayed in was Naples' Line 1 Toledo metro station, also known as the Star Metro Station. Because there is a beautiful landscape inside the station - the ceiling decorated with mosaics. Take the long subway escalator to "look up at the stars" and enjoy a "brilliant scene" overhead.
