The 42 points were the development league's highest single-game score in the regular season this season.

Joseph Young has played in the CBA for the previous three seasons, representing Tongxi and North Control respectively.

In the 2019-20 season, he played in 44 games for Tongxi, averaging 38.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game, becoming the CBA scoring champion that season.
