The Athletic reporter Shams Charania reports that Rockets assistant coach Gerald Green is back on the hill with plans to sign a development league, and the 12-year veteran seeks to return to the NBA.
Gerald Green was the 2005 No. 18 pick and spent 12 years playing for the Celtics, Timberwolves, Lone Rangers, Nets, Pacers, Suns, Heat, and Rockets. He won the 2007 Dunk Contest.
Green last played for the NBA in 2018-19, averaging 9.2 points and 2.5 rebounds in 20.2 minutes per game, and he transitioned to a three-point maniac late in his career, shooting more than 10 shots per 36 minutes.
Due to the serious epidemic in the NBA, many players have been awarded 10-day contracts from the NBA.
