Liu Xun was a famous literary scholar during the Southern and Northern Dynasties, and his "Wenxin Carved Dragon" is a huge work of ancient literary theory criticism, which still radiates dazzling brilliance today. But few people know that this talented man lived in poverty when he was a child.
Liu Xun's parents have both died since childhood, and his family is surrounded by disciples. But he liked to read, and the few books left by his father were regarded as treasures by him, and he always had to turn a few pages when he had time. He was tired during the day, and he refused to rest at night, and he wanted to read more books.

But the family had no surplus grain, and there was really no money to buy oil to light lamps, and Liu Xun was troubled by this matter for a long time. One day, he suddenly remembered that there was a Jinhua Temple on the Jinhua Mountain not far from home, and the Buddha lamp on the main hall of the temple was lit until dawn, and he thought why not read with the Buddha lamp?
That night, Liu Xun brought a few books to Jinhua Temple. He did not break in, but he glanced at a hole, avoided the attention of the monks, and slipped into the main hall.
The hall was as bright as day, and he was so happy that he knelt down in front of the statue of the Buddha, prayed earnestly, asked the Buddha for forgiveness, and then began to read. It wasn't until it was almost dawn that he crept home.
The temple's zen room has a lot of books, and the abbot is very knowledgeable and has a deep literary foundation. On this day, the abbot had just finished reading the Morning Sutra, and the young monk who was on duty at night rushed to him and told the master with a mysterious face that the bodhisattva had appeared. The abbot told him not to worry and spoke slowly.
The little monk fixed his mind and continued, "Last night, when I was on duty, I heard the sound of chanting in the main hall. The abbot was also very interested after hearing this, so he decided to go and see for himself.
When it was dark, the abbot found a place to hide. Soon after, he saw a thin figure entering the main hall lightly. After a while, there was the sound of aloud reading. The abbot listened carefully, and it turned out that he was reading a book of poetry. He walked from the hiding place to Liu Xun's side, did not alarm him, and stood quietly listening to him read.
Liu Xun was a little tired of reading, so he stretched out a lazy waist, but inadvertently saw a monk looking at himself with a smile. Frightened, he hurried to his knees and asked the abbot for forgiveness. The abbot hurriedly picked him up to inquire about the situation, and Liu Xun told his story with trepidation.
The abbot liked him very much and accepted him as an apprentice, and Liu Xun also moved into jinhua temple and followed the abbot to do his studies. In the blink of an eye, ten years have passed, and Liu Xun has been carefully dialed by the master, and all the sons and hundreds of families, poetry and songs, are all exquisite.
As long as he has experience in the process of reading, he will also write it down in the book in time. Over time, it actually became a thick book. Liu Xun sorted it out and showed it to the abbot. The abbot couldn't stop applauding after seeing this, and asked him to ask Situ Shenyue, who had already returned to his hometown at that time.
Liu Xun rushed to the Shen family, but was driven out by the family. He was not discouraged, and suddenly remembered that Shen Yue had become a love of books, so as soon as the spirit moved, he pretended to be a book seller and waited for him to arrive on the road.
As soon as Shen Yue arrived at the entrance of the village, he heard someone shouting for ancient costume books. Shen Yue hurriedly asked liu xun to find him, and when he got closer, liu xun heard his own story. Shen Yue felt that this person was extraordinary, so he took the book he handed over, turned a few pages, and was immediately attracted, so he sat in the same car with him and returned to the Shen Mansion together.
Back in the mansion, Shen Yue quickly opened the book and read it carefully while sighing in admiration. Shen Yue and Liu Xun talked for one night. The next day, Shen Yue looked at it again from beginning to end, and then circled it word by word.
In accordance with Shen Yue's instructions, Liu Xun repeatedly revised the original manuscript several times. Shen Yue was very satisfied, and wrote down the four powerful characters of "Wenxin Carved Dragon" with a pen. Since then, Liu Xun's reputation has been greatly enhanced, and this book has been circulated for a long time and is deeply appreciated by the world. Yue Qiao Yue is a metaphor for the shape of Pei Yuan, and the vicissitudes of the waves are metaphorical.
The husband who embellishes the text, the emotion and resigns; the viewer, the person who wears the text to enter the feeling. Along the waves to discuss the source, although the shadow will be revealed.
It is to the effect that a person is proficient in music only if he has played many tunes; only after seeing countless swords can he understand weapons. Evaluative works must be widely observed, climbing over the peak to understand the hill; if you appreciate the sea, you will understand the ditch better.
Writers first have inner activity and then manifest themselves in their works; literary criticism must first look at the words and then go deep into the heart. Traced from the appearance to the root, gradually from the subtle to the obvious.
