On January 5, at the 2022 CES Consumer Electronics Show, Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida announced that Sony is launching a new division, Sony Mobility, which is tasked with commercializing its electric concept vehicles. Sony shares rose 4.2 percent in Tokyo after the unveiling of the electric car plan, easily beating the sideways Nikkei.

In addition, Sony also released a prototype of an SUV type electric vehicle at the meeting. Kenichiro Yoshida stressed that the SUV adheres to the first priority of safety, and said that a total of 40 detection sensors are installed inside and outside the vehicle to ensure the safety of passengers.

This is not the first time Sony has talked about "making cars", at the CES 2020 exhibition, Sony had released an electric vehicle Vision-S EV, but at that time, Sony repeatedly denied entering the car industry, just to show the application of its own technology in the automotive industry.
