Nasdaq Composite Led Tesla Shares Soar 11%

The Nasdaq Composite led the gains in trading On Monday afternoon, the 10-year Treasury yield rose 11 basis points to 1.62 percent despite pressure on several high-multiple software stocks (in terms of price-to-earnings). The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose slightly, slightly below its all-time high. The NASDAQ Composite and nasdaq 100 both rose 0.7%. The ratio of rising stocks to falling stocks on the NASDAQ index is less than 2 to 1.

The biggest gainer in the Nasdaq 100 index includes Tesla stock, which surged 11 percent after the leaderboard title reported strong fourth-quarter deliveries over the weekend. Tesla (TSLA) jumped short on last week's high of 1,119 points, viewing today's trend as a breakout. The electric car maker is IBD Today stock.

Two other listed stocks — AdvancedMicro Devices (AMD) and Nvidia (NVDA) — also outperformed the NASDAQ 100.
