Apple updated its investor relations page on January 4, local time, where it announced that it would share gains from fiscal quarter 2022 (fourth calendar quarter) on Thursday, January 27. The first-quarter earnings call will give insight into Apple's sales of its iPhone 13 models, AirPods 3, M1 Pro and Max MacBooks and other devices during the holiday quarter that ended in December.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said last quarter that the tight supply caused by the chip shortage cost Apple $6 billion, and it is expected that chip shortages and supply problems will also affect Apple's earnings results in the first quarter.
In the first quarter of last year, Apple reported record earnings — revenue of $111.4 billion and quarterly net profit of $28.8 billion. However, Apple again refused to provide guidance for the first fiscal quarter of 2022.
