In 2019, under the planning and promotion of 25 Chinese and foreign artists and cultural scholars such as Pu Cunxin, Liao Changyong, Ji Di Majia, Alai, Qian Wenzhong, Li Ting, etc., the "Daliangshan International Drama Festival" was born. But he also admitted that the current domestic epidemic situation has caused a big problem for the theater festival - in early November, the theater festival failed to start as scheduled in the winter season as originally planned, and many original works scheduled to participate in the festival, including Pu Cunxin's own Beijing Renren Art Drama "Li Bai", were forced to cancel, the preparations for the theater festival were completely disrupted, and the expected number of audiences was also affected. Pu Cunxin said that when he and other initiators communicated with the Liangshan government and planned the Daliangshan Drama Festival four years ago, he had set goals and visions: unlike other theater festivals such as Beishangguang and Wuzhen, the Daliangshan Theater Festival is a new form of cultural brand of "cultural tourism and co-prosperity and development" under the leadership and strong support of the government, and it also has the gene of cultural poverty alleviation.
