In Jilin Province, there is a county town called Huaide County, which was founded in 1877, and later, it was renamed "Princess Mausoleum" by a railway, and later changed to "Princess Ridge".

What's going on?

There is a county in Jilin Province called Gongzhuling, and the Japanese said it was not good, so it was changed to Gongzhuling

This has to start in 1898, when Tsarist Russia deliberately built a railway that could go directly to China when building the Middle East Railway, and one of the branch lines of the railway was from Harbin to the Princess Mausoleum in Huaide County.

At that time, the Princess Tomb was still a small town, but when the railway was completed, the town overshadowed Huaide County with the convenience of transportation, so it was renamed Gongzhuling County.

As the name suggests, this mausoleum is buried with a princess, and there is a very poignant love story behind it.

The story takes place during the Qianlong period, when there was a Mongol prince in the Zhengjiatun area at that time, and when this prince was 50 years old, his wife gave birth to a daughter named Meiqige.

Wang Ye loved this daughter very much, and specially found someone to create a brass bell and hung it on her daughter's neck to bless her daughter with health and well-being.

Because as soon as this princess walked, the brass bell would ring, so everyone called her the ringing princess.

Wang Ye also specially found a Han woman to be the nurse of the ringing princess, this nurse was called Zhang Ma, and she was a very kind woman.

Mama Zhang took very good care of the princess, and Wang Ye was also very happy, so she allowed Zhang Long, The Son of Mama Zhang, to come to the palace to play. After Zhang Long came to the palace, he had a very good time with the princess and had a feeling of green plum bamboo horses.

But when Princess Lingling was 14 years old, Mama Zhang and Zhang Long were expelled from the palace. Soon after, Zhang Mama passed away due to overwork and illness, leaving zhang Long alone.

But Zhang Long did not stagnate, but practiced riding and shooting hard, and became a champion of horseback riding, archery and wrestling at a conference in Mongolia.

During a hunt, Princess Bell and Wang Ye were separated, and when they encountered a fierce tiger, and when they saw that they were about to be eaten by the tiger, Zhang Long saw it from a distance and was busy shooting the tiger to death with an arrow.

At this time, Wang Ye took the housekeeper to the mountain, listened to the princess's story about the rescue, was very moved, in order to thank Zhang Long, he left Zhang Long in the palace to feed the horses and catch the car.

After Zhang Long entered the palace, his relationship with the princess developed rapidly, and the princess secretly made a lifelong appointment with Zhang Long, planning to elope with Zhang Long.

However, when Wang Ye learned of this, he was very angry, so he designed a trap for Zhang Long and told him that if you could kill a tiger, he would promise you to marry the princess.

Therefore, Zhang Long went up the mountain to fight with the tiger, and finally beat the tiger to death with his own martial arts. However, Wang Ye secretly sent a butler, taking advantage of Zhang Long's exhaustion, and shot him to death with a dark arrow.

When the princess arrived at the scene, she saw that Zhang Long was already dead, so she pulled out the arrow stuck in Zhang Long's body, stabbed into her body, and died of martyrdom.

After the princess's death, Wang Ye and his wife were very sad, so they solemnly buried their daughter, and every year on the Qingming Festival, the first day of October, they brought sacrifices to sweep the tomb, this place is also called "Princess Mausoleum".

Later, during the Japanese occupation of Northeast China, due to the taboo of the word "mausoleum", the "Princess Mausoleum" was changed to "Princess Ridge", which has been used to this day.
