Haas: The challenging season of 2021, we never gave up!

Haas team principal Gunther Stener said he was impressed by the team's hard work and never giving up during the challenging 2021 season.

After a disastrous 2020 season, Haas team decided not to upgrade the 2021 VF21 car and instead focus directly on the development of the new 2022 car.

For two young drivers, Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazeping, 2021 is destined to be an uncompetitive season, and it turns out to be the same.

While this gave Schumacher and Ma Zepping some breathing room to grow without great pressure, it also left the team struggling in the tough 22 races of the season, putting in the effort without getting anything in return.

Haas and several other teams have seen employee departures due to the tight schedule, prompting Haas' big sponsor, Dimitri Mazeping, to propose a bonus incentive package to keep employees motivated.

Although Haas has had its most challenging year to date and is the only team to have not scored points in the 2021 season, team principal Steener has been impressed that they never wanted to give up and keep working hard.

"We never gave up and although the end was anticipated, we have been struggling. There's about 60% of the employees here from the time the fleet was founded, so they know we can do it. Everyone wants to look forward to the team being able to return to the midstream group.D. ”

Steener said the Haas team did not whitewash the difficult environment in 2021, and he believes that the team's attitude is correct and will continue until 2022.

Steener explains: "There's no need to run to tell employees how good the future will be every race weekend, because they won't believe you as long as it lasts. They're all smart people, they just need to see what you've done. ”
