The family, who discovered the situation, quickly called an ambulance and took her to Changi General Hospital for treatment, and then to the Central Hospital for treatment due to her complicated condition.

Shortly after Xu Wei was taken to the Central Hospital, her condition deteriorated sharply and she fell into a coma.
Doctors at the Central Hospital examined Xu Wei and concluded that if the operation was performed immediately, both mother and son might be killed. After discussion, the doctors of each department decided to use ECMO (artificial heart and lung) treatment first to make Xu Wei's condition stable and not worsen as much as possible.
With the consent of the family, more than 30 medical staff began to use ECMO to treat Xu Wei, and it took more than two hours to rescue Xu Wei from the ghost gate.
According to Xu Wei's husband Yang Wu revealed: "The doctor said that her blood oxygen content dropped to more than 70%, and at that time, the doctor said that the survival rate of ECMO was quite low, telling me to prepare for the worst, I don't know how to describe the mood at that time... I broke down. ”
ECMO is to draw venous blood out of the body, replace the heart and lungs, let the blood and oxygen fully oxygenate, and then infuse back into the body, so it is commonly known as artificial heart and lung.

On November 1, Xu Wei, who had been rescued, slowly woke up. The first thing she did when she woke up was to ask the nurse if her child was all right? After knowing that the child is safe, he relaxed.
On the 4th, the doctor found that the baby's heartbeat was irregular during the physical examination, and immediately decided to perform a caesarean section on the child. At this time, Xu Wei was only 27 weeks pregnant.
The caesarean section was successful, the mother and child were not harmed, but the baby was only 789 grams (about 1.58 pounds, about 5-8 pounds when the baby was born), and the baby could only be observed in the intensive care unit.
This time made Xu Wei very frustrated, thinking that she was sorry for the baby, and waited until 10 days before she plucked up the courage to visit the baby.
"I think it's my fault, it's me who hurt him, he's not like any other baby who can go home and be locked up and go through all that pain when he comes out." But my husband and the nurse at the hospital kept encouraging me, saying that the baby needed my support, and I didn't see him until a few days later, thanking the nurse for giving me the courage to do so. ”
Doctors in obstetrics and gynecology said the baby was in good condition, with the chance of sequelae dropping from 80 percent to 50 percent, and no covid-19 or other illness had been tested so far.
