Before you created it, did you first conceive of the hostess or the hostess?
A: When I conceived this book, the first thing that came to my mind was the male protagonist Wei Jia. The origin is a perfume I came into contact with by chance, its top notes are clear and bitter with coolness, the heart notes are rich and mellow, there is pyrotechnic gas, and the tail notes are warm and long. I think the three tones of perfume are very similar to a person's life, the top, middle and tail notes correspond to youth, adulthood and the rest of life respectively.
If this perfume is anthropomorphized, it should be the smell of a good man, a person who has experienced ups and downs but is still gentle inside — this is the vagueest outline that Wei Jia first appeared in my heart.
Q: There are often descriptions of smells in the book, such as Wei Jia's description of the moon, and For example, Chen Xi always uses the smell of Wei Jia's body to distinguish where he has been. Why did you think of such a descriptive form?
A: People's preference for smell is the same as the tendency to choose a mate, which is something that exists in genes, and smell is the forerunner of the five senses - if we have a good feeling for a person, we rarely hate the smell of the other person, and vice versa. In real life, there are some people who are more sensitive to smells.
Emotions and human senses are inextricably linked, and I find it very interesting to describe the scent memory of such a person with a keen sense of smell.
Q: During the novel's online serialization, readers' evaluations of Wei Jia were mixed, and it could even be said that the discussion was fierce. Some people say Jia Jia Slag, but some people say that Jia Jia's life experience makes him dare not take the initiative to ask for it many times. From the perspective of "mother-in-law" (author), what do you think?
A: I don't know how to judge a person by "scum is not scum". There are many dark and subtle corners of human nature that are not unknown, it is not a simple plane, but a lot of "lines" pulling each other, even a good person in a broad sense will have such a pull in the depths of their hearts.
Wei Jia is probably an avoidant attachment personality in psychology, he is not loved in the original family, this lack of love makes him think that he is not worthy of love, and the externalized performance is "I don't need love at all". Because of this, he is insecure in his feelings and will appear too cautious in the face of choices - afraid of failing others, and even more afraid of being disappointed.
But the most painful thing about Wei Jia is that even if he has had a dark experience and a lack of heart, he has still grown into a very good person, kind and intelligent, warm and responsible. He has laid a solid barrier to his heart, but he has never hurt anyone, and has always tried to overcome his character flaws and take care of those around him as much as he can. Q: Wei Jia has been suffering since he was a child, and when he met Chen Xi, he felt that there was sweetness in his life, and the two people were attracted to each other and redeemed each other, so that we could see such a twisty and sweet story. Did you name the book "Needle Honey" on purpose, and did you deliberately plan the content ratio of "needle prick" and "sugar"?
A: Half and half. Chen Xi and Wei Jia are two-way love between two very different people, their feelings are wavering and low, but whenever one party tries to withdraw, the other party will instinctively grasp it firmly. So the story of this book has always been bittersweet and intertwined, like the tip of a needle taking honey. Sometimes, pain and sweetness go hand in hand.
Q: Did you experience anything impressive during the creation of this article and the series?
A: The most interesting thing is that when I wrote this novel, my thoughts and writing were coherent, but the online serialization is a daily change, and readers will face the problem of the plot suddenly interrupted in a certain place when chasing changes, so their reading experience is relatively "fragmented". For example, the series pauses at the delicate threshold of the mutual emotional temptation of the male and female protagonists, and some readers will be anxious for them, for example, some friends are seeing the sad chapter of the plot suddenly disappearing.
Perhaps because there is no character with perfect personality in this book, each character is doing what they think is right at the time from their own position, when the contradiction and conflict arise, the reader also substitutes different emotions because of different angles, as the plot advances, there will be a lot of arguments about the characters in the reader's comment area of the series and my Weibo, everyone feels that "Jia Jia is too scummy", and for a while he scolds "Chen Guihua is not a thing", almost every character has been criticized and hurt. I was also the "mother" of the people in the book for a while, and I was criticized as a "stepmother" for a while...
