Since the reservoir was completed and put into operation in 2019, Wang Shengping and his colleagues have insisted on carrying out two inspections of the reservoir area every day.
"We strictly implement the 24-hour duty system, establish and improve the emergency disposal, operation management, water and rain record and reporting and other work systems to ensure the safety and standardization of reservoir management." Wang Shengping said.
The completion of the Zhujiajian Reservoir is conducive to alleviating the seasonal water shortage pressure and ensuring the water supply of the people in the county and urban areas, which can provide 1.663 million cubic meters of domestic water to 100,000 residents in the urban area of Jingchuan County and surrounding townships every year, and 478,000 cubic meters of irrigation water to the 9,000 mu of farmland in The Jingfeng Irrigation District, which can effectively solve the problem of insufficient water supply for urban living and downstream agricultural irrigation.
The reservoir chief system is a major measure for the water conservancy industry to fully integrate the existing reservoir management responsibility system in the new era, and the reservoir chief is generally responsible for reservoir flood prevention, safe operation and daily inspection and management, implementing reservoir scheduling and operation, carrying out daily safety management and engineering maintenance of reservoirs, organizing dam safety inspections and dangerous situation disposal, and timely reporting on dam safety.
In Pingliang City' Kuntong Reservoir, reservoir chief Ma Qianli led inspectors to conscientiously inspect key areas. The reservoir is named after the Kuntong Mountain, located at the mouth of the Qianxia Gorge of the Kuntong Mountain in the upper reaches of the Neijing River in Pingliang City, with a corresponding water surface area of 113 square kilometers at the highest water level. The total storage capacity is 29.75 million cubic meters. The maximum water depth is 61 meters, and the dead storage capacity is 6 million cubic meters. The dam is 63.8 meters high and the top of the dam is 400 meters long, which is a comprehensive reservoir mainly for irrigation.

"The height difference between the Kundong Reservoir and the central urban area of Pingliang is 150 meters, so the flood control responsibility of the Kundong Reservoir during the flood season is greater than that of the sky." Ma Qianli said that before the flood, they actively mobilized to carry out equipment operation and maintenance to ensure normal operation during the flood, strengthen duty during the flood, and ensure that key parts and key time points are responsible.
