The two hospitals of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiaotong University jointly successfully transferred and treated the "premature baby"

"Suffocation recovery successful!" In the operating room of the East Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University (Yanliang), a proclamation accompanied by a loud and powerful cry of the baby finally relieved all the medical staff present, and also made the family who had been waiting outside the operating room excited. Under the epidemic, when everything presses the pause button, new life will not stop the rushing pace. On December 25th, the Department of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Neonatology and Anesthesia Surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiaotong University successfully treated and transported a "premature baby" who was only 34 weeks old, helping a special mother to welcome her hard-won child.

On December 25, when the snow was heavy in Xi'an, at 3 p.m., the Pediatric Department of the East Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiaotong University suddenly received a consultation call from the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, and a pregnant woman was about to give birth to a premature baby with a gestational age of 34 weeks (normally 37-40 weeks). When the patient presented, he said that he felt that his fetal movement was reduced in the past 1-2 days, and after examination, he found that the fetus had a manifestation of intrauterine hypoxia and required an emergency caesarean section. At the same time, the mother's situation is more special, not only suffering from gestational hypertension, diabetes, hypothyroidism, systemic lupus erythematosus and other diseases, and many years of infertility. The child's mother repeatedly pleaded that the child did not want it easily, it was a successful IVF that was successful after many attempts, and it was necessary to find a way to stay.

In view of the patient's situation, Director Xue Yan of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director Yang Yonghua reached a consensus after full communication: the maternal condition is critical and it is not suitable for transfer at present; the fetus has intrauterine distress and needs to arrange emergency surgery as soon as possible, and the risk of asphyxia and respiratory distress after birth of the premature fetus is high, and it is necessary to contact the neonatal department of the hospital headquarters for assistance.

After receiving the call for help, Zhou Xihui, director of the Neonatal Department of the Hospital Headquarters, immediately contacted the ambulance team of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiaotong University. After 10 minutes, Director Zhou Xihui led The Head Nurse Yang Aping and Dr. Zhang Bo of the Department of Neonatology to push the mobile newborn emergency transport system (mobile NICU) to board the ambulance, and within an hour, they rushed to the operating room of the East Campus.

The obstetrics and gynecology team and anesthesiology team of the East Branch of the First Affiliated Hospital and the team led by Zhou Xihui, director of the Neonatal Department of the Hospital Headquarters, have a clear division of labor, close cooperation, and fully prepare for maternal anesthesia, preparation of items before resuscitation and pre-resuscitation estimates. At the beginning of the operation, Professor Xue Yan and He Ruixia of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology were hospitalized with the support and cooperation of Liu Chang's team of attending doctors and nurses led by Gao Wei, director of the Department of Anesthesiology, to successfully help the mother deliver the fetus.

After cleaning the respiratory tract, positive pressure ventilation and other rescue measures, the baby's skin turned rosy, the crying sound was powerful, and the crisis turned into safety.

In order to ensure the health of the children, the Department of Neonatology immediately launched the Newborn Emergency Transport System to transport the baby to the Neonatology Department of the hospital headquarters. Thanks to the connection of the two hospitals, the family did not have to go to Xi'an, and directly went through the hospitalization procedures, paid the hospital deposit, signed relevant medical documents, and completed the identification check of the newborn admission in the east campus, which not only facilitated the patient, but also reduced the flow of personnel between the two places during the epidemic.

In the concern and sight of family members and medical staff, the vehicle stepped on the road of the headquarters of the transfer hospital in the snow and wind, the outside of the carriage was eagerly anticipated, the carriage was tense and busy, the ambulance ran smoothly all the way, and at 6 p.m. on the same day, the baby was safely delivered to the neonatal intensive care unit of the hospital headquarters.

In the case of inconvenient transportation at the moment of the epidemic, the timely and efficient transfer mode between the two hospitals has opened a green channel for the treatment of critically ill newborns. The strong guarantee of the neonatal team of the hospital headquarters has solved the worries of the obstetrics and gynecology department of the East Campus when dealing with critically ill pregnant women, and emergencies such as placenta previa bleeding and extremely low weight premature babies can be treated at the first time, and some difficult and critically ill pregnant women can also avoid the risk of rushing and transporting. The epidemic is merciless and compassionate, and the two hospitals of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jiaotong University will continue to work together to escort the safety and health of critically ill pregnant women and mothers and infants in Yanliang area.
