Tramway News: Today, the Guangzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission issued the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Innovative Development of Intelligent and New Energy Vehicles in Guangzhou", which proposes that by 2025, the city's automobile production capacity will exceed 5 million, the capacity utilization rate will be further improved, and the output value of the automobile manufacturing industry above designated size will strive to reach 1 trillion yuan, which will continue to rank in the forefront of the country; the production capacity of new energy vehicles will exceed 2 million, entering the top three cities in the country; the penetration rate of new energy vehicles will exceed 50%, and the ownership will increase to 800,000 vehicles, accounting for more than 20% of the car ownership. At present, Guangzhou has 11 vehicle manufacturing enterprises, gathering more than 1,200 auto parts production and trade enterprises. In 2020, the city's automobile production reached 2.95 million units, an increase of 1.4% year-on-year, an increase of 33.6% over 2015, accounting for 11.7% of the national output, and has maintained the first place in the national automobile production for two consecutive years; the output value was 586 billion yuan, and the sales volume of new energy vehicles was 53,000 units, accounting for 11.41% of new car sales, significantly higher than the national (5.4%) and provincial (7.7%) averages.

In order to promote the development of the intelligent and new energy automobile industry, Guangzhou will successively introduce a series of support policies. It will further improve the information service for new energy small and medium-sized passenger cars, study and introduce policies and measures conducive to the promotion and application of new energy vehicles, such as licensing, charging and high-speed traffic preferences in the city, implement the "double confirmation" of new energy vehicle safety and quality and application for subsidies, and actively promote the large-scale and commercial application of new energy vehicles in related fields.

Vigorously promote the application of new energy vehicles in official vehicles and rental (including online car-hailing), sanitation, postal services, urban logistics and distribution, airports, ports and other public sectors, and fully complete the electrification of cruise taxis by 2023. According to the epidemic situation, we will issue comprehensive subsidies for individual consumers to purchase new energy vehicles in a timely manner, study and introduce incentive policies after the withdrawal of subsidies, promote the orderly development of new energy vehicles in the private sector, and increase the proportion of individual consumers purchasing and using smart and new energy vehicles.

Focus on the core technologies of basic materials and key components such as fuel cell stacks, membrane electrodes, bipolar plates, proton exchange membranes, catalysts, carbon paper, air compressors, hydrogen circulation systems, and low-cost hydrogen, and independently master the research and development and manufacturing technologies of high-power density stacks, low-platinum load proton exchange membranes, and high-performance carbon paper. Strengthen the technical research of hydrogen production, storage, transportation and processing for vehicles, and reduce the cost of hydrogen fuel use.

Focus on the study of high-power ultra-fast charging, wireless charging, charging safety and other fast charging technologies. Support high safety, high energy density, low cobalt (micro-cobalt) power battery technology research and development, breakthrough wireless battery management system (wBMS), battery management unit (BMS) and other technologies, improve battery safety, reliability, performance and life, encourage silicon anode batteries, graphene batteries, fuel cells, solid-state batteries and semi-solid-state batteries, sodium batteries, vanadium batteries and other new batteries and a new generation of charging and replacing technology research and development.
