Pi Lei, chief technician of the clinical biological resource library, introduced: "The Municipal Women's and Children's Center established the clinical biological resource library in 2015, and so far the clinical sample collection department covers all specialties in the five hospitals, including 29 major disease cohorts and 32 common disease cohorts. Specimen types include peripheral blood, stool, other body fluids, throat swabs, fresh tissue, and tissue wax patches. The total number of incoming samples is 2.2 million, and the outbound samples are 70,000. Currently, more than 90% of the biological specimens here are blood. ”

According to the reporter's understanding, the city's women and children invested a total of 40 million yuan to build the project. "From the beginning of 2019, it took more than two years to complete." Gong Sitang also introduced that at present, during the construction of the clinical biological resource library, the gastroenterology and pediatric surgery experts of the Municipal Women's and Children's Center have applied these specimens to carry out scientific research such as biliary atresia and megacolon, and their results have been published in the Cell (Cell journal, the journal of the latest research findings in the field of life sciences issued by Cell Press) in 2019 and 2020.
