Zhang Zhankui (1867-1940), also known as Zhaodong, was a native of Hejian County, Hebei Province. In the 32nd year of Qing Guangxu (1906), Han Muxia, encouraged by his master Zhang Zhankui, tearfully knelt down to bid farewell to his mentor and rushed to Jiangnan to meet his friends and learn art from his teacher.
Han Muxia obeyed his master's instructions and went south alone, traveling widely to the famous mountains and rivers and visiting famous masters. In Xindu County, Chengdu, Sichuan, Duan Laowushi taught Han Muxia a few of the key tips he had gained in his lifetime. This was Han Muxia's eighth master, who solved all the mysteries in the Fist Classics Song for him. Subsequently, Han Muxia visited the Bagua Palm Master Ying Wentian, not only worshiped him as a teacher, but also fulfilled the mysteries of the Bagua Palm, and the master also gave him a name - Han Muxia gave him. Ying Wentian was Han Muxia's ninth master. Han Muxia returned to Tianjin at the age of 35. He met with his long-departed master Zhang Zhankui, his uncle Li Cunyi, and other friends in the martial arts arena. At the urging and control of everyone, Han Muxia and Zhang Xiuru married and established a family.
With the consent of his master Zhang Zhankui, Han Muxia founded the "Wushu Gymnasium" in Yuwei Road, Hebei District, Tianjin in 1912, with the purpose of strengthening the body and revitalizing China, and implementing free apprenticeship. Because of Han Muxia's erudition and the personal transmission of nine famous teachers, he deliberately innovated on the basis of inheritance, blending the shape and meaning, bagua, etc.; and also integrated the northern and southern bagua palms, integrated and penetrated, unique, excellent art, and reputation. Beijing, Tianjin and the northeastern provinces competed to hire artists and become busy people. Some other martial arts masters also rushed to worship the master. For a time, Han Muxia's martial arts hall was full of people.
In 1916, Tianjin Nankai School added a chinese art class and hired Han Muxia as a martial arts instructor. In February 1913, the 15-year-old Zhou Xiangyu came to Tianjin with his uncle Zhou Yigeng from Shenyang to be transferred from Shenyang to Tianjin Changlu Salt Transport Division, and was admitted to Nankai School (Middle School) in August. When he was a teenager, Zhou Xiangyu established the ambition of reading for the rise of the Chinese nation, and under the cultivation of the educational ideology of "moral education, intellectual education and sports" attached equal importance to the three educations of the principal Zhang Boling, he knew that sports was a must for a strong country. Therefore, Zhou Xiangyu makes full use of his spare time for physical exercise, ball, athletics and other sports he likes, is a member of the three major ball project team, high jump also won the ranking in the school sports meeting, in short, in sports he carried out comprehensive exercise. When martial arts arose in the school, he actively participated, eagerly learning, not only learning martial arts in the school, but also often going to the martial arts gym to practice with Han Muxia.
