Shape intention fist, Bagua palm master Han Muxia

Han Muxia (1877-1947), a native of Dahanzhuang, Jinnan District, Tianjin, was a master of shape and meaning fist and Bagua palm, who successively studied martial arts with Zhang Zhankui, Ying Wentian and other nine masters. When Zhou Enlai was studying at Nankai School, he practiced martial arts with him and exercised his body. In 1947, Han Muxia died in poverty.

Han Muxia, formerly known as Han Jinyong. Mu Xia was given by his ninth master.

In 1877, Han Muxia was born in a poor peasant family in Dahanzhuang, Jinnan District, Tianjin, and the whole family relied on his father to collect firewood and cut grass to survive. By chance, the father and son were recommended to work as servants in the directly subordinate salt chief Hai Zhangwu's family, serving their family's nursing home dart master Zhou Binyi.

Zhou Binyi, a Shaolin gate, is known for his swords and swords and short weapons, and is good at piano, chess, calligraphy and painting, and is a man of righteousness and arrogance, and has a chivalrous demeanor. At that time, although Han Muxia was young, he was shrewd and diligent, hard-working, pouring tea and water, serving food, laundry, laying paper and studying ink, and carrying weapons for Zhou Dangshi, who was very industrious and thoughtful, and Zhou Dashi loved Xiao Muxia from his heart. Therefore, he took Xiao Muxia as an apprentice. From then on, in addition to waiting for Master Zhou, Xiao Muxia rose at dawn, sprinkled the court, and studied martial arts with his teacher. Under the meticulous carving of Master Zhou, Han Muxia's literary and martial talents grew rapidly.

After Hai Zhangwu was appointed as the head of salt affairs by the governor of Zhili, the surrounding salt overlords refused to give up, and open and secret struggles became commonplace. Once, there was a salt bully nicknamed "Langli Jiao", who was not small in power, and there were many dart masters in the family. This person was dissatisfied with Hai Zhangwu's appointment as the chief salt affairs manager, and in order to compete for hundreds of miles of salt flats in the Bohai Sea, he wanted to invite Hai Zhangwu to a banquet in the name of congratulating Hai Zhangwu on his official title, so as to force him to make concessions. After consulting with Master Zhou And deciding to be accompanied by Han Muxia, Master Zhou said emphatically: "With his agility and existing martial skills, it is enough to subdue the other party and ensure your safety." Hai Zhangwu had a bottom in his heart after listening to it, and before leaving, Zhou Dangshi handed Han Muxia a copper town ruler and gave him the opportunity to teach him, and Muxia nodded and smiled knowingly.

At the banquet, after three rounds of wine and five flavors of dishes, the topic of "Jiao in the Waves" turned and he said aggressively: "Since Brother Hai has already been appointed to an official position, he can't worry about it with his brothers," right?!" The salt flat should be let go, and I hope that the elder brother will raise his noble hand and leave a bowl of rice for the brothers to eat..." He said and pulled out a written deed from his robe and forced Hai Zhangwu to sign it. Hai Zhangwu did not agree, and the two sides argued endlessly about your words and my words. Suddenly, a big man with a steel knife broke through the door and went straight to Hai Zhangwu, and the indoor air suddenly became tense. Hai Zhangwu was momentarily helpless and flustered, and at the critical moment, Han Muxia calmly and calmly pulled out the copper ruler from his waist, and with the momentum of lightning, he used the copper ruler to resist the waist and eyes of the "Langli Jiao", and shouted at the big man: "If you dare to take another step closer, I will end up with the life of your master!" Don't you want to have good fruit to eat! "When the big man saw this, he was like a wooden chicken and did not dare to move. Han Muxia also righteously rebuked the "Langli Jiao": "If there is something to discuss calmly, why play a treacherous trick and plot to harm people!" The ownership of the salt flats has its own axioms, you must not deceive people too much, quickly send my owner back safely! Don't make me angry, otherwise..." Saying, the copper town ruler in his hand arched his eyes hard into the waist and eyes of the "Langli Jiao", and the "Langli Jiao" sighed..., the "Langli Jiao" who had already broken his guts hurriedly drank back the big man, and after a while of laughing and not smiling, he respectfully sent Hai Zhangwu out of the gate.

Since Han Muxia Zhiyong defeated the Yanba "Langli Jiao" and escorted Hai Zhangwu home safely, he was deeply appreciated by Hai Zhangwu and Zhou Dangshi. Zhou Dashi saw that Han Muxia was indeed a rare martial arts talent, so he recommended him to Zhang Zhankui, a famous martial artist.

Zhang Zhankui (1867-1940), also known as Zhaodong, was a native of Hejian County, Hebei Province. As a teenager, he practiced Shaolin boxing for the first time, and then studied "Shape Intention Fist" and "Bagua Palm" from Liu Qilan in Shihejian and Dong Haichuan in Beijing, which obtained its true meaning and innovation. When Feng Guozhang was serving as a guard, he quickly defeated the assassin who assassinated Feng Guozhang, saving Feng's life, and Feng personally inscribed the "Lightning Hand" plaque to zhang. After Han Muxia worshiped under his door, he was like a fish in the water, and his martial arts progressed rapidly. During this period, Zhang Zhankui took the initiative to find five masters for Han Muxia to teach stunts.

In the 32nd year of Qing Guangxu (1906), Han Muxia, encouraged by his master Zhang Zhankui, tearfully knelt down to bid farewell to his mentor and rushed to Jiangnan to meet his friends and learn art from his teacher.

Han Muxia obeyed his master's instructions and went south alone, traveling widely to the famous mountains and rivers and visiting famous masters. In Xindu County, Chengdu, Sichuan, Duan Laowushi taught Han Muxia a few of the key tips he had gained in his lifetime. This was Han Muxia's eighth master, who solved all the mysteries in the Fist Classics Song for him. Subsequently, Han Muxia visited the Bagua Palm Master Ying Wentian, not only worshiped him as a teacher, but also fulfilled the mysteries of the Bagua Palm, and the master also gave him a name - Han Muxia gave him. Ying Wentian was Han Muxia's ninth master. Han Muxia returned to Tianjin at the age of 35. He met with his long-departed master Zhang Zhankui, his uncle Li Cunyi, and other friends in the martial arts arena. At the urging and control of everyone, Han Muxia and Zhang Xiuru married and established a family.

With the consent of his master Zhang Zhankui, Han Muxia founded the "Wushu Gymnasium" in Yuwei Road, Hebei District, Tianjin in 1912, with the purpose of strengthening the body and revitalizing China, and implementing free apprenticeship. Because of Han Muxia's erudition and the personal transmission of nine famous teachers, he deliberately innovated on the basis of inheritance, blending the shape and meaning, bagua, etc.; and also integrated the northern and southern bagua palms, integrated and penetrated, unique, excellent art, and reputation. Beijing, Tianjin and the northeastern provinces competed to hire artists and become busy people. Some other martial arts masters also rushed to worship the master. For a time, Han Muxia's martial arts hall was full of people.

In 1916, Tianjin Nankai School added a chinese art class and hired Han Muxia as a martial arts instructor. One day, when Han Muxia was teaching, he found that among the students was a young man with thick eyebrows, big eyes, brilliant talent, and mighty and handsome, who practiced very seriously, was willing to endure hardships, and learned quickly. In February 1913, the 15-year-old Zhou Xiangyu came to Tianjin with his uncle Zhou Yigeng from Shenyang to be transferred from Shenyang to Tianjin Changlu Salt Transport Division, and was admitted to Nankai School (Middle School) in August. When he was a teenager, Zhou Xiangyu established the ambition of reading for the rise of the Chinese nation, and under the cultivation of the educational ideology of "moral education, intellectual education and sports" attached equal importance to the three educations of the principal Zhang Boling, he knew that sports was a must for a strong country. Therefore, Zhou Xiangyu makes full use of his spare time for physical exercise, ball, athletics and other sports he likes, is a member of the three major ball project team, high jump also won the ranking in the school sports meeting, in short, in sports he carried out comprehensive exercise. When martial arts arose in the school, he actively participated, eagerly learning, not only learning martial arts in the school, but also often going to the martial arts gym to practice with Han Muxia.

Behind Han Muxia was a female Han Xiaoxia and a son, Han Shaoxia. Han Shaoxia joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army in early 1948, and turned to the north and south to kill the enemy bravely. After the founding of New China, he joined the Chinese Volunteer Army to go to the Korean battlefield and resist the aggression of US imperialism side by side with the Korean people...! In 1953, he was professionally trained by the army to work in Jilin Province. After retiring in 1983, under the expectations of the martial arts community and the encouragement of the elders of the predecessors, Han Shaoxia, who inherited Han Muxia's martial arts, has begun to receive apprenticeships to teach art, in order to make Chinese martial arts passed on from generation to generation, so that the national spirit of indomitable and self-improvement will always be carried forward! To comfort Han Muxia's spirit in heaven!
