The Mirror: West Ham are interested in buying Hick in the winter, with a transfer fee of up to £40 million

According to the Mirror, West Ham are preparing to buy Bayer Leverkusen striker Hick during the winter transfer period, which will cost a transfer fee of 40 million pounds.

In this round of the Premier League, West Ham defeated Watford 4-1 away from home, rising to fifth place in the Premier League table. But the only centre-forward available in West Ham is Antonio, and in order to secure the top four of the Premier League, the club is ready to bring in a striker during the winter transfer period, and the Mirror revealed that West Ham's target is Sigg.

The 25-year-old made his debut at Sparta Prague and previously played for Sampdoria, Roma and Red Bull Leipzig before moving to Bayer Leverkusen for €26.5 million in the summer of 2020. At this summer's European Championship, Hick scored five goals to win the Silver Boot, and one of the long-range hanging shots was very exciting. In this season's Bundesliga, Sigg has scored 16 goals, behind Levan (19 goals) in the Bundesliga top scorer list.

The Mirror said Hick and Bayer Leverkusen's contract only expired in 2025 and West Ham would need to pay a transfer fee of up to £40 million in order to sign Hick in the winter. However, in order to reduce Antonio's burden and cope with the intensive schedule in the second half of the season, West Ham still wants to bring in Sigg. It is worth mentioning that Roma retained a 10% share of the future transfer proceeds when selling Hick to Bayer Leverkusen, and if Hick moved to West Ham for 40 million pounds (about 47 million euros), roma could get about 2 million euros.
