As a megacity with an area of more than 16,000 square kilometers and a population of more than 20 million, Beijing faces many challenges and difficulties in urban governance. The 12345 Citizen Service Hotline is like a link between the government and the public. How to make the complex and tedious work of the hotline vividly displayed on the stage and be able to let the audience watch it, the main creator of this play has made a lot of efforts.

Wang Qing, a national-level director of Beijing opera for the first time, said that they hope to make a breakthrough in form this time, present a fashionable modern drama that looks good and is fun, fresh and enthusiastic in the way of light comedy and musical, give the audience a refreshing feeling, and convey the care of the party and the government for the people in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Rehearsing such a play that reflects the spirit of the times and real life requires a novel sense of stage, strengthens the elements of opera, highlights the characteristics of Beijing opera, and enhances artistry on the basis of life. ”

In Wang Qing's view, the character image in the play should be typical, the personality color is distinct, showing a group of community workers group portraits, both representative and non-facial, the stage is all the people and things we will encounter in life, so that there will be empathy and will stand.

Chen Hongjing, a young actress of the Beijing Ququ Opera Troupe, plays Zhen Zhen in the play, and she has successfully portrayed various heroines in the classic repertoire of Beijing Opera, but this time it is really a challenge to play a young post-90s community secretary. In order to prepare for the role, Chen Hongjing went with the team to collect style, learn professional knowledge, study the script, and figure out the characters. When it comes to character shaping, Chen Hongjing feels that the key is to grasp the real emotions of the characters, pay attention to emotional investment in the performance, and only from their own life experience can they create an infectious artistic image.
