Trump's sword on the Turkish Masters: "Leaving cold England to bask in the Mediterranean sun"

The 2022 Snooker Turkish Masters will take place from 7 to 13 March and will be the first professional snooker tournament to be held in Turkey, with 64 players travelling to Antalya, Turkey for the main tournament, with a total prize money of £500,000.

Nirvana Cosmopolitan has been designated as the venue for the Snooker Turkish Masters. The World Snooker Tour (WST) has struck a four-year contract with the Turkish Billiards Association and Big Break Promotions.

World number two Trump, who has won 14 ranking titles in the past three years, now looks further afield to the East.

"Looking at the total prize money of the race and the £100,000 championship prize, it's fair to say that this is actually one of the big events of the season. I think there will be some players who will want to take their families with them (Turkey), which may be a bit of a pressure to qualify. Of course, some players may think they can kill two birds with one stone – they can take their families on vacation for free, and they can also show their skills in big games and get huge bonuses. ”

"Given the special circumstances at this stage and the absence of overseas events, no one can promise that the event can be held as scheduled. I was happy to learn that this was a four-year deal, which is very good news. ”

"I'm sure the players will be very excited, especially those at the bottom of the rankings, who don't have a chance to play in the Masters or the Tour Championship. [Coming to Turkey] to have the opportunity to play while leaving the cold Of England to bask in the Mediterranean sun is not a weekly opportunity, which will put a lot of pressure on the qualifiers. I went on holiday to Antalya for the first time when I was 18 and it was a really wonderful place".

Known for its rich culture, rich history and strategic geographical location along the Mediterranean coast, Antalya, Turkey is one of Europe's most renowned tourist destinations. Tournament tickets are already on sale.
