However, Liu Bang's descendants themselves were in chaos again, and there was a rebellion of the Seven Kings, competing for the jiangshan of his own family, Emperor Jing of Han, so Emperor Han Ming, in order to avoid a recurrence of the tragedy, specifically limited the power of the emperor's relatives and relatives.
Emperor Hanming selected 28 generals from among the ministers, asked them to give them portraits, and after the portraits were painted, they were hung in the Yuntai of the Luoyang Southern Palace, which was called "Twenty-eight Generals of Yuntai", that is, twenty-eight generals.
Zhu You was not a relative of the emperor and was included in the list of twenty-eight generals, and the emperor asked skilled craftsmen to paint portraits of them and hang them on the Cloud Terrace of the Southern Palace. But Zhu You was the only one among the twenty-eight generals who had ever been taken prisoner, so how could he be named one of the 28 generals?

Zhu You had known Liu Xiu's brothers since childhood, they were still classmates when they were studying in Chang'an, and after Liu Xiu's brother Liu Yan was killed by Emperor Gengshi, Zhu You, worried about Liu Xiu's safety, rushed alone to report to Liu Xiu.
Since then, Zhu You has been following Liu Xiu, following Liu Xiu to eliminate the separatist forces of Wang Lang and others, and pacifyIng Hebei. Subsequently, he made great achievements in the siege of Luoyang. When he was pacifying the south, he captured Qin Feng, who had divided the Jingxiang area.
After Liu Xiu unified the country, Zhu You was stationed at the border pass for a long time to defend against the Xiongnu.
Compared with his capture, Zhu You's merits far outweighed his faults, and his flaws were not hidden, comparable to the other 27 heroes with great merits, so Emperor Hanming rated him as one of the twenty-eight generals.
