Recently, the Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Haizhu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, together with the Population and Family Planning Office of Ruibao Street, launched a collective appointment free pre-pregnancy eugenic health examination on the weekend to meet the needs of pregnant couples who plan to be "office workers".
Health care institutions generally carry out pre-pregnancy eugenic health examination services on weekdays, but some couples who plan to become pregnant are busy with work and it is difficult to arrange to participate in the examination during normal working hours. After learning about the situation of couples of childbearing age, the Haizhu District Maternal and Child Health Hospital used the weekend to organize a collective free pre-pregnancy eugenic health examination for local "office workers" couples in line with the principle of "no small matter for the needs of the masses".
"Office workers" plan pregnant couples to come to the Haizhu District Marriage and Childbirth Service Center for free pregnancy and eugenic health examinations.
On the day of the inspection, couples of childbearing age who had made an appointment in advance came to the Haizhu District Marriage and Childbirth Service Center on time to participate in the inspection. In addition to conducting pre-pregnancy eugenic health examinations for couples of childbearing age, medical staff also carried out scientific education on the prevention of birth defects and pre-pregnancy health care for them on the spot.
