On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, Dalian News media group produced a 4-episode 4K ultra-high-definition documentary series "Daoxiang Surging Paper", which is the latest season 8 of the local original documentary column "The Most Beautiful Dalian Trip", which for the first time presents the earliest rice relics in northeast China 3,000 years ago in the form of images, the "seawater rice" of Academician Yuan Longping who was tried to plant in Dalian, and the natural ecology of the southern Liaoning region.
The filming lasted nearly 8 months, with a total of nearly 2,000 shots, and the external shooting scenes involved 13 township streets in Dalian and Panjin, Dandong and other places, with an interview mileage of more than 13,000 kilometers.
"Daoxiang Surging" is Dalian's first realistic documentary with the theme of "rural revitalization" strategy, with each episode being 30 minutes long.
The film takes the traditional rice planting area in southern Liaoning as the main plot place, and through documentary methods, tells how the countryside, driven by grass-roots party organizations and party members, faces challenges, strives to pursue happiness, and explores the road of rural revitalization with regional characteristics, and emerges a series of inspiring stories of the times.
The whole film makes an in-depth observation of the ongoing struggle practice in the rural areas of southern Liaoning, and at the same time, with agriculture and market, rural and urban, farmers and land as the social background, the revitalization content is portrayed from multiple perspectives, especially the projection and excavation of many realistic themes involving food security, international and domestic double circulation, epidemic prevention and control, etc.
The whole work uses fascinating audiovisual language and forward-extended cross-narrative structure to delicately and brightly shape the portraits of rural peasants in the new era, and in the narration that goes straight to the scene, it records the revitalization epic of this year from the foot of the Liaoning countryside to the ground.

On December 10, the location shooting of "Daoxiang Surging Paper" lasted more than 8 months was successfully closed, which is the eighth season of Dalian's original documentary column "The Most Beautiful Dalian Trip". In order to shoot this documentary, the program team interviewed more than 13,000 kilometers, and we used a documentary that tells the story of the countryside to catch up with the end of the year and pay the most sincere respect to all those who persevered for their efforts this year.
As the first documentary in Dalian to be created specifically for the national strategy of "rural revitalization", what kind of annual narrative does the four episodes show? Compared with the past, what is the difference between "Daoxiang Surging Paper" and the previous works of "The Most Beautiful Dalian Trip"? Why "Daoxiang"? Where does the "surging" come from? Is such a film that focuses on the theme narrative good?
Let's start with rice.
Rice originated in China, this knowledge point must be known to many viewers, but few people know that Dalian is one of the earliest footholds of china's native rice, and Dalian's "Dazuizi Ruins" is the northernmost remains of rice in China' geographical location. Today, the whole of Dalian still has nearly 300,000 acres of rice fields and dozens of villages on the north bank of the Yellow Sea, it can be said that Dalian's farming heritage is orderly, both past lives and this life, if traced back to the source, is the "big mouth" rice, only so that Dalian civilization anchored the coordinates, but "Rice Village Surging" is not a piece of interpretation of history, the thickness of history has been left yesterday, we are more concerned about this land today, how those farmers who are far away from the city step on the earth, deeply promote China's continuous progress.
Truth is the essence of documentaries, compared with the well-designed plot of commercial films, although there is no lack of truth in the countryside in the documentary state, it is difficult for real records to have undulating plots, fortunately, art comes from life, and once life enters the plot, it is often unexpected, and there is an unexpected real shock.
"Daoxiang Surging Paper" mainly tells the character stories of 5 villages.
A native rice farmer, the land has enriched Afu, and he believes that the next step will bring a more solid future. When collecting wind, we learned that in addition to planting land this year, Ah Fu also pondered the matter of raising crabs in the rice field, for this matter, Ah Fu Kaichun deliberately ran to Panjin and spent 40,000 or 50,000 yuan to buy crab seedlings, and we also traveled thousands of miles with the auction. Before Afu, the locals had never succeeded in breeding river crabs, but the farmer's ideal of fullness was still full of simple happiness. But people are not as good as the sky, since buying crab seedlings, want to "lie flat" Ah Fu has never been idle, it is not that crab farming is busy, but crab seedlings have a big problem, thousands of acres of "rice field crabs" died of death, thrown away, in vain tossed for many months. In the face of the blows of reality, does Ah Fu still believe in the land and believe in dreams? "The Surging Rice" records Ah Fu's ups and downs and the most normal rough grinding in life.
Compared with the previous seasons of "The Most Beautiful Dalian Trip", this season's works adopt a new pre-extension cross-narrative structure, and the four episodes are both relatively independent and related to each other. The fate of the characters is the main line of the whole story, the plot is driven by real events, four or five minutes a paragraph, the rhythm is tight and bright. In the face of the present, we are more about highlighting the diversity and complexity of the rural social governance structure with on-site documentary.
The opening chapter of "Daoxiang Surging Paper" directly enters the scene, and the single machine captures a fierce conflict that occurs in the sea, and uses the original sound to directly hit the real ecology of rural society at the same time. Speaking of which, it is rare to use such an emotional video as the opening of a documentary with the main theme. Rural revitalization is a great cause, but this cause is not achieved overnight, the reason why "Daoxiang Surging" adopts this narrative style is to have more observations with a sense of social value in addition to the record, and use their own fieldwork to explore the wisdom and choices of this land in the face of difficulties, so as to more fully reflect the social logic of the development of the countryside itself. The creation of documentaries is not only a record, but also an observation of society. In the whole four episodes, from the old field to the export of ginger, from the dispute between large and small tomatoes to the protection of marine resources, we find that the small farmer thinking formed by the rice village for thousands of years has begun to decompose and break, and the "three farmers" are ushering in a new change, and although the countryside has trekked but has not stopped, it has also made the symphony of revitalization more and more loud.
"The Most Beautiful Dalian Trip" column was created for 5 years, has launched 29 episodes (parts) of documentaries, most of these works are mainly based on rural themes, we hope that these rural stories are not only a year of looking back, but also the future-oriented Dalian, hope of China's "index of the times".
