On the evening of December 24, the new screenplay "Hero Tiger Guts" of Fujian Liyuan Opera Heritage Center appeared in Fuzhou to participate in the 8th Fujian Arts Festival and the 28th Provincial Drama Festival.
The Liyuan drama "Heroic Tiger Guts" is based on the movie of the same name, telling the story of Zeng Tai, chief of the reconnaissance section of the People's Liberation Army, who sneaked into the old lair of the Kuomintang bandits in disguise, fought with the stubborn bandits, and assisted the large troops to wipe out the bandits.
Originating in Quanzhou, Fujian during the Song and Yuan dynasties, Liyuan opera has a history of more than 800 years, preserving many cultural forms of ancient southern opera, and is praised by the academic community as "the living fossil of Song and Yuan southern opera". Zeng Jingping, the director of the play and twice won the Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award, introduced that in the development process of Liyuan opera, the creation and performance of modern drama is indispensable, and "Hero Tiger Guts" not only continues the creative tradition of modern drama of Liyuan opera, but also actively seeks a new style of modern life, which is a positive attempt to "return to the original and open up new" in the red theme and modern theme of Pear Garden opera in recent years.
