The struggle between life and death in the movie Champions (2021).

In 1940, the Nazis transported the people of Warsaw to Auschwitz, where they were not allowed to eat or drink, but they were given heavy physical work, and of course they were shot and tricked into bathing in the bathroom, in fact, they went to the crematorium and destroyed them in a centralized manner. Among them was Hamburg's 1938 boxing champion Teddy, who was named No. 77 at Auschwitz and spent his days engaged in heavy physical labor, digging stones, transporting stones, and not enough to eat, wear, and warm. At the same time, some of his fellow inmates were dragged out and shot by Nazis. By his time, the Nazi officers seemed to have noticed his difference and did not kill him, but the recorder recorded an extra person's quota, so the officer shot and killed a prisoner who was dragging the body to make up the number.

When Teddy saw such a scene, he knew the bloodshed and violence of the Nazis. And when he saw the hordes of his compatriots being driven into the crematorium, he was even more grief-stricken. Thankfully, some Nazis discovered his boxing talent and tried it against him. After the competition, Teddy won, not only the game, but also a lot of bread and sausages. He distributed bread and sausages to his suffering compatriots, including a little brother named Janek, who was very kind and helped Teddy carry medicine. Janek fell in love with Hesia, a nurse, but soon Hesia was forced into a crematoria by the Nazis. When the Nazi officer pointed a gun at Hesia and asked her to take off her clothes, Hesia suddenly grabbed the pistol and killed the Nazi officer, and then the Nazis shot and killed Hesia. At that time, Janek hid in the corner to watch, and did not dare to come out to rescue Hesia.

Teddy was transferred to a horse barn where he kept horses, where he played sandbags and competed from time to time. There was a big, strong man in a prison uniform who had been transported from another concentration camp to compete with Teddy. Teddy knocked him down in the ring. When Teddy watched his compatriots transport the prisoners who had been shot, he was surprised to find that the big man had been killed and put on a cart by the prisoners and transported to the crematorium. The struggle becomes brutal, and if Teddy loses, he is likely to face the same fate.

Teddy realized that the boxing match at Auschwitz was not simple, it was a life-and-death struggle rather than a fight or a match. Officers bet on the boxers who fought, and those who lost money had to kill the boxers who lost the game. In any case, the boxers were all prisoners of the concentration camp, including Teddy, who were all prisoners, and their lives were killed by the Nazis. Senior Nazi officers, who were not accustomed to Teddy, wanted to organize a nazi boxer and him, and the Nazi boxer must have won the game, in order to boost the military.' During the game, Teddy was drugged, had stomachaches, vomited, and was beaten to the ground and unable to move. The Nazi officer wanted to shoot him, but wanted to torture him, when Janek stepped forward, and the officer asked Janek to fight with Teddy, either Teddy killed Janek or Janek killed Teddy. Teddy asked Janek to beat him, but Janek was slow to act. The officer pointed his gun at Yaneke, and Teddy urged him to come and fight, but Instead of rushing towards Teddy, he rushed to the officer with the gun...

Perhaps, Janek was inspired by his lover Hesia and had a spirit of rebellion. In the face of Janek's tragic death, Teddy opened his mouth and cried, but he could not cry. He was tied with his hands and hung from poles as he watched as a large number of his compatriots were herded into the crematorium. After a night, he was put down. However, his hands could not move, and he could only put them in front of his body, but he was not discouraged, but stumbled closer to the boxing match scene to duel with the players in the ring.

He could only dodge and could not reach out and fight back, because his hands and arms were already numb. At the crucial moment, he faced a punch from his opponent, went up with his head, broke his opponent's wrist, and won the game. He won with his skill and perseverance, and was also favored by another German officer who wanted to transfer him out of Auschwitz.

He experienced several life-and-death struggles, his eyelids swollen, and he left Auschwitz with his wounds. Later, when Warsaw was liberated, he became a boxing gym instructor, specializing in teaching boxing techniques to children. The compatriots at Auschwitz were not so lucky, and most of them were gone.

The significance of the film is to highlight the courage of the struggle between life and death in a cruel environment, and to highlight the brilliance of human nature. Teddy walked out of the camp with his boxing skills, but also warmed the hearts of his compatriots with great personality strength. And, of course, the sacrifices of Hesia and Janek, who were also inspired by the spirit of Teddy's boxing, died where they deserved. It can be said that Teddy became the spiritual sustenance and spiritual guide of the Poles in Auschwitz.

Fortunately, he is still alive, and people will still have hope, courage and determination to fight.
