On the banks of the Qijiang River, the archway with the plaque engraved "Tianzi Wharf" stands facing the river, and the front is written: The ancient monuments explore the source of the Pearl Water Civilization in one vein, and the relics inspire the children of Xiangshan to compete for thousands of sails.
"Xiangshan is the cradle of China's modern history and modern culture, and it shakes out the great figures and great contingents represented by Sun Yat-sen, Zheng Guanying, and Rong Hong, as well as the great ideas represented by the Three People's Principles, the strategy for founding the country, and the idea of commercial warfare."
This is a scholar's evaluation and a sketch of Zhongshan's modern and contemporary history. The clock hand is turned back more than a hundred years ago, and a generation of great man Sun Yat-sen took the lead in proposing the strong voice of the times of "revitalizing China", which is the prototype of today's "Chinese Dream". One by one, Xiangshan celebrities have stepped onto the stage of history and become a valuable asset in China's modern history. This is also the earliest area in China to "open the eyes to the world", and it has stepped out of the earliest Chinese international student Zheng Mano and other celebrities.

95 years ago, Xiangshan County was renamed "Zhongshan County"; 95 years later, "Sun Yat-sen" became the city's deepest brand. A large number of figurative expressions in memory of Sun Yat-sen have formed a unique system of externalization of Sun Yat-sen's cultural resources in the city.
Over the years, the cultural resources of Sun Yat-sen, which have been continuously excavated and sorted out, have formed a cultural resource system composed of specific objects and literary and historical theories, which has magnified the cultural symbols represented by Dr. Sun Yat-sen and the influence of Zhongshan City.
In 2018, the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area proposed to "support Zhongshan City to dig deep and promote the cultural resources of Sun Yat-sen". On the eve of the 153rd anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's birth, Zhongshan City issued the Outline of Sun Yat-sen Cultural Exchange and Cooperation Plan (Draft for Comment), which plans to build a key city of national cultural development strategy with Sun Yat-sen's cultural resources as the link and driving force.
"Sun Yat-sen's cultural resources should be the core strategic resources of Zhongshan City." Fu Caiwu, dean of the National Institute of Cultural Development of Wuhan University, participated in the preparation of the "Planning Outline", he believes that Sun Yat-sen's historical and cultural resources are rich in connotation, and in practice, they have a good horizontal extension performance, based on the fact that Dr. Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary footprints are all over the world, Sun Yat-sen's cultural resources are "not only Zhongshan, Guangdong, China, or the world." In the long run, culture and values are the core force influencing the development of the region, and the cultural resource system of Sun Yat-sen, represented by Dr. Sun Yat-sen as a cultural symbol, is an important driving force for the development of Zhongshan. In order to build the brand and influence of Sun Yat-sen's cultural resource system, Zhongshan must promote its innovative development from culture and form a cultural community.
