Sha Menghai (1900-1992), formerly known as Wenruo, the character Menghai, Shihuang, Shacun, Cassia, Yinxian Shacun people. Born in a famous family of doctors and scholars, he was a child who studied seal carving early, studied at Cixi Jintang School, and graduated from the Fourth Normal School in Eastern Zhejiang. In 1922, when Sha Menghai went to Shanghai as a tutor, he had the privilege of contacting masters such as Kang Youwei and Wu Changshuo, whom he admired greatly, and had a profound impact on Sha Menghai's calligraphy and seal engraving in the future. In 1925, he taught at the Commercial Press Graphic and Literature Correspondence Agency, during which time, he learned ancient literature from Feng Junmu and Chen Qihuai, which made him a great progress in his studies. The "Huaguo Monthly" sponsored by Zhang Taiyan has published his Golden Stone text many times. He once served as a standing committee member of the Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Management Committee, an honorary curator of the Zhejiang Provincial Museum, the vice chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, the chairman of the Zhejiang Calligraphers Association, the president of the Xiling Printing Society, the president of the Xiling Calligraphy and Painting Institute, and the honorary president of the Zhejiang Archaeological Society. His calligraphy is far from the Han Wei, close to The Song Ming, Yu Zhong, Wang Xizhi, Ouyang Qing, Yan Zhenqing, Su Shi, Huang Tingjian and other families, the most diligent, and can transform the ancient and the present, forming their own unique style of writing. He is also good at seals, subordinates, lines, grasses, and kai books, and his list of books is large, majestic and strong, and imposing.
