Located in the front area of Nanjing's central plot, the wall is separated from the International Friendship Park by one street, because the internal plot reserves are to be developed, and the 260-meter-long wall is only decorated with simulated turf, forming a huge gray space corridor opposite the park - on the one hand, the park with high utilization rate of citizens, and on the other side, the deserted and simple street, forming a sharp contrast on both sides of Pingliang Avenue. With the winning works of the collection activity on the wall, a long scroll depicting "ecological Jianye", "humanistic Jianye", "scientific and technological Jianye" and "vitality Jianye" attracted passers-by who were originally "in a hurry" to stop and watch from time to time.
"We want to extend the ecological features of Friendship Park to the surrounding areas. Therefore, the creation begins with a livable ecology. But as an important display interface of Jian Ye, this wall should be more inclusive, so we use creative books to show humanities, sports and health to show vitality, and integrate technological elements such as artificial intelligence to depict future-oriented innovation, so that the wall becomes the epitome of the city's character. Also adding to the new look is a small civic plaza on the Elan Chai plot. The square is located near the subway exit, set up fitness equipment and tree pool benches, providing a good place for the surrounding residents to relax, but the wall that makes up the main façade of the square has been damaged, affecting the effective use of the citizens. To this end, this solicitation included this "dangerous wall" in the design object, and asked the contestants to create with the theme of "Vitality in Jian Ye". Combined with the characteristics of the cultural and sports axis where the plot is located, the contestants used the fence as a "transition link" to create an evolution from sports elements to musical elements. The final award-winning draft ,"Youth Parlor", not only highlights the landmark of the wall as the visual core of the plot, but also skillfully combines the background picture with the civic activities, the author Fan Linsen said: "I hope to create the main body with the people in the square and restore the colorful happy life of the citizens - some quiet reading, some fitness exercise... In order to give the audience a stronger sense of participation and substitution, we weakened the facial details of the characters on the wall and formed a mirror dialogue between the people in the square and the people on the wall."
Two walls on the Colouring Lot were also selected for the call. The wall of Hengshan Road is located near the entrance of Binrunhui Shopping Mall, which constitutes an intuitive impression of the public's business district. Therefore, the theme chose "Fashion in Jian Ye", hoping that the beautification of the wall can empower the surrounding business formats. A work called "Fashion Jinling" stands out, taking into account the trend and tradition, using dynamic curves and exaggerated character images, so that the picture presents a continuous sense of movement in the marching viewing, the author Chen Xiaowan is a student of Xiamen University, she said: "The traditional revival has gradually become the current trend inspiration, we have absorbed the traditional craft elements, using gold outlines and retro colors, so that the picture presents a richer level of depth and depth, for the users of the road section - whether it is pedestrians watching closely, Or a fleet of light offers a different way of experiencing."
The creation of the Hexi Avenue section of the Binrunhui plot transforms the wall into a dramatic scene - a green sports field appears behind the sidewalk trees, the central football game is fiercely and intensely played, and a football is sent into the gate, forming a huge tension in the visual center. The creator, Chen Yanxi, is also a college student, "the wall separates the unknown and the known in the city, and the people outside the wall always hold a curiosity, wondering what will happen inside the wall." We take advantage of the characteristics of the plot where the wall is located, and the plot of the picture is perspectived, giving people an imagination to the unknown. According to the person in charge of the Construction Bureau of Jian Ye District, the planner of the event, the month-long collection attracted the participation of many creators, and a total of 99 valid submissions from 146 artistic creators were received from the four walls.
