Young dancer Hu Shenyuan's new work "The Ship of Theseus" is about to set sail in Shenzhen

The new work "The Ship of Theseus", created by young Chinese dance artist Hu Shenyuan and his studio team over a two-year period, will be premiered worldwide at the Guangming Culture and Arts Center in March 2022.

This work, produced by Hu Shenyuan as a producer, and at the same time as a director, dance drama construction, choreography, stage concept design, and actor seven-fold identity, will be the first solo dance drama in China. Hu Shen will use a 60-minute solo dance to complete a very challenging stage performance.

The difficulty of the solo dance form seems to be a road he wants to explore. The dance drama "The Ship of Theseus" uses the boat as a clue to construct the story of young people who are not afraid of difficulties and strive to chase their dreams in the contemporary context. Life is a great ship that is constantly armed, and people are always on board, which is also the meaning of the concept of "The Ship of Theseus" in the work. The play uses a new dance vocabulary, a variety of juxtaposed media means of expression, and the thoughts of life in the "boat" that speak of virtual reality.

As the resident artist of guangming culture and art center, Hu Shenyuan not only shoulders the mission of art creators, but also uses his artistic influence to promote the continuous development of guangming cultural and artistic undertakings.

One minute on stage, ten years offstage. In the past two years of unremitting creation, the main creative team has overcome multiple difficulties, strived for excellence, and strived for wonderful presentation.
