The first "Roundtable Forum" of the First Micro-automotive Semiconductor Ecological Summit won a full house

Jiwei Network News, on December 24, 2021, under the guidance of Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology and Pudong New Area Science and Technology Commission, sponsored by China Semiconductor Investment Alliance, undertaken by Zhangjiang Hi-Tech and Aijiwei, and co-organized by SAIC Motor, the "First Jiwei Automotive Semiconductor Ecological Summit" was held in Shanghai.

The "Roundtable Forum" session of the summit was presided over by Guo Yiwu, Secretary General of Shanghai Integrated Circuit Industry Association, with the theme of "Navigating the New Pattern and Exploring Core Opportunities". The "Roundtable Forum" guests gathered, including Sun Changxu, managing partner of Xiaomi Production and Investment, Liang Haiqiang, director of the development department of BAIC Research Institute, Dai Weimin, chairman of VeriSilicon Co., Ltd., Yu Zhenghua, chairman of Moshi Intelligence, Qiu Yujing, CEO of Xinchi Technology, Wang Rongjin, managing partner of Jinbang Capital, and other guests from the industry and investment circles, talking about automotive chips, bringing an extraordinary feast to the guests and online listeners.

From the macro and micro perspectives, the participants shared their views on the "lack of core" problem, which is widely concerned by the industry. As for when the "lack of core" problem can be alleviated, the judgment given by the guests is the second half of next year, the first half of the year or 2024. Subsequently, on the issue of supply chain, the views of the guests were also very clear.

Sun Changxu, managing partner of Xiaomi Production and Investment, analyzed the supply chain management problems behind the lack of cores in automobile chips; Dai Weimin highlighted that enterprises do not do product services, which is the "WuXi AppTec" in the chip industry; Yu Zhenghua, chairman of Moshi Intelligent, pointed out the importance of government functions in supporting the development process of automotive semiconductors, and the guidance of government policies is crucial to the entire industry; Qiu Yujing, CEO of Xinchi Technology, is very concerned about the safety of automotive semiconductors, emphasizing that automotive chip companies are self-reliant and strong, and they want to be functionally safe. We must keep safety and reliability in mind at all times.

In view of the current shortage of chips, Liang Haiqiang, director of the development department of BAIC Research Institute, pointed out that in the shortage situation, BAIC will consider compatibility in the design process of the controller on the one hand, including components, not only one supply, but also two supplies and three supplies, and do some compatible design. Ensure that when there is a problem with the first supply, the second supply and the third supply can be on top. On the other hand, for the core key devices, it may focus on one or two mainstream chip companies, establish deeper cooperation, and do some work in protection. At the same time, regarding the introduction and substitution of domestic chips, mass production is replaced by relatively low functional safety requirements. For functional safety requirements are relatively high, including three-power control, domain controller, the corresponding domestic chip verification has been carried out.

On the issue of investing in enterprises in the automotive field, Wang Rongjin, managing partner of Jinbang Capital, said that for new energy vehicles, especially the semiconductor direction, we undoubtedly attach great importance to it, and the same logic is also true for semiconductors, from perception, decision-making, to execution. There is no doubt that the semiconductor opportunity for new energy vehicles is much larger than that of traditional vehicles, and it has many industries that are zero-to-one processes.

At the "Roundtable Forum", the guests made good suggestions on the technology, supply chain, upstream and downstream cooperation, industrial prospects and investment strategies of automotive electronics. Finally, for the future development of the industry, the guests all believe that the automotive chip industry has encountered the best era, and there are huge development opportunities in the future.
