Male and female fish are basically sexually mature after 3.5 months, the first birth is mostly after 4 months, rarely before 4 months of age, even if the number of reproduction is limited. Therefore, in order to ensure quantity and quality, please be cautious about early marriage and early childbearing.
How do we select breeding fish? Choose some healthy and beautiful male fish and healthy females as broodstock, the male-female ratio is 2:1, my method is that if there are enough fish for me to choose from, then I will choose 4 male fish and 2 females as a breeding group for individual breeding.
Under normal circumstances, after the broodstock are combined, there is a phenomenon of male fish chasing the female fish, the female fish fetal spots are aggravated, the area is increased, the abdomen is expanded, and after about a month, it begins to reproduce. The number of first breeds is relatively small, basically no more than 50, it can reproduce 3 to 5 times in a lifetime, and in the case of good breeding conditions, a single time can reach up to about 150. Under normal circumstances, most people can't do it, and this is also being worked on.
So how exactly do they mate?
The genitals of male fish are evolved by the fin and are usually oriented beyond the back. When chasing the female, the adult male twists the genitals forward, pierces the female reproductive cavity, shoots semen, and works together so fast that you don't notice. Male fish often behave like peacocks before mating, fully courting females and desperately showing their beauty in front of females. Even the ugly male fish is full of confidence, full of confidence, fully unfolding his dorsal fin tail fin, repeatedly chasing, repeatedly showing, repeatedly chasing, repeatedly stabbing the female. As male fish age, sexual capacity gradually declines. The increase of the caudal fin and dorsal fin will also increase the resistance of its swimming speed, and the success rate of mating will gradually decrease. There are many eggs in the mother's abdomen, constantly producing eggs, with a single holding amount of up to hundreds, and those who conceive at the same time will be one or two hundred. The eggs of the female fish will vary from fertilization to maturity with changes in the environment, the temperature is high, there are more male fish, and the maturity will be fast. On the contrary, the low temperature cycle is a little longer, and it generally develops into a small fish in a month.
Since the ratio of male and female is 2:1, which male fish can become a fish father? Maybe the little life in the mother's belly is just one father, but it may also be multiple fathers. If different species of male fish are used, it can be basically seen from the offspring that their offspring will show a variety of phenotypes.
