WHO is in the process of finalizing a second-generation COVID-19 vaccine

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus revealed at a press conference on the 22nd that WHO is determining the second generation of the new crown vaccine through the vaccine "solidarity test".

Tedros said the "Solidarity Test" aims to discover second-generation vaccines that have a stronger protective effect on the new coronavirus variant, longer protection periods, and vaccines that can be vaccinated without injections.

Tedros said the research team began recruiting volunteers in late September, and so far more than 11,500 people have participated in the trial. As of now, the trial includes two vaccines, with another three being included soon, and more likely to be included. WHO invites all countries and research centres to participate in this trial.
