The similarities and differences between "tone" and "sound"

author:Hongshan Daoist Xiangyang

Today, I will talk about the similarities and differences between "sound" and "sound", and understand it from the Chinese characters.

What is "tone"? What is the meaning of the phonetic character? First, look at the origin of the word "yin".

The similarities and differences between "tone" and "sound"

Sound words, a little in the mouth, a xin word on the mouth.

A little bit of the mouth can be understood as coming out of the mouth of a person or animal.

The hard work on the mouth must be studied in depth for a while.

The lower part of the Xin character resembles the half of the grass head, representing the growth of plants or growing plants (including the growth of animals or other things that can grow forward), the upper part resembles a triangle, and there is a horizontal on the triangle, which represents the removal or cutting off of the extra branches growing at the top of the plant. Therefore, the Xin character is the image of the top of the plant, and the image of the Xin character is the image of the Gua Gua.

The upper part of the gua is yin, and the lower two are yang, containing the image of yin hindering the upward development of yang. This image in oral pronunciation is equivalent to the pattern of different syllables that hinder the flow of speech such as lips, tongue and teeth, so it is said to speak. Therefore, the word "sound" on the mouth can refer to the sound emitted from the mouth of a person or animal.

The similarities and differences between "tone" and "sound"

In the original glyph of the word "sound", the ear, the hammer in the hand, the mouth, the characters of these glyphs are easy to understand, and the characters in the upper left glyph need to be explained.

The triangle symbol is actually a symbol of the Gongua image, which here represents an object with a certain volume. The Yang on the Gong Gua is the boundary of the object represented by the Yin, and the triangle represents a complete object.

The head above the triangle is a symbol of the vibration image, representing the vibration sound. The meaning of such symbols in Chinese characters is typical, such as the character 屮 on the "喜、 drum", and its imagery is the same.

But traditional annotations have ignored the meaning of this symbol, or treated this symbol as a decorative object, which is wrong.

Knowing the meaning of the upper left symbol, we can understand the meaning of the word "sound": the sound that can be perceived by the human ear after the vibration of the object is "sound".

From this, the similarities and differences in the imagery of the word "sound and sound" can be clearly defined! "Sound" represents the vibrational sound of an ordinary object, and "sound" represents the sound emitted from the mouth of a person or animal.

Q: What about the triangle symbols like Gong Gua and the Tang characters like Zhen Gua?

The upper yang represents the upper tip, and the lower yin represents the area, so the gong is a triangle. The same is true of Genwei Mountain.

The vertical below the character is the Zhen Gua Yang Yao, and the upper part of the fork is three representing the two Yin Yao above the Zhen. This symbol can represent the growth of grass and trees, and it can also indicate the forward direction of the foot, which is unified into a typical symbol of the image of the shock. For example, in the ancient glyph of the word "Chao" (readers please consult the relevant information by themselves), the characters above and below the sun indicate running forward, not grass and trees.

There are many such abstract symbols in Chinese characters, but unfortunately, later generations regarded them as fixed objects. Abstract talents represent a wide range of objects and images, which is the fundamental truth!
