When he was 13 years old, his mother helped him find an errand to work as a tailor apprentice in the county town, after which he stayed in the county town and lived the life of a master tailor.
At that time, the spring breeze of reform drifted to all parts of China, and he also participated in the revolution. At that time, Zhu Changkai served as chairman of the Yongxin County Workers', Peasants' and Soldiers' Government and a member of the Xianggan-Gansu Border Special Committee, and later he was promoted to secretary of the Xianggan-Gansu Border Special Committee. In January 1931, because of the influence of the left-leaning error, it was believed that the Soviet power at all levels in the Xianggan Soviet District was manipulated by hooligans, and all the shootings of Yuan Wencai occurred.
In this case, Zhu Changkai was very worried, and later Zhu Changkai fled to Meihua Mountain in Gaoxi Township, Yongxin County, at that time Zhu Changkai was hiding in a cave, when the Xianggan Provincial Party Committee Security Bureau found the place where he was hiding, immediately mobilized hundreds of people to search the mountain, after several days of searching, found that he had run out of food, in order not to be tortured, Zhu Changkai chose to shoot himself on Meihua Mountain, when he was only 24 years old.
