National treasure among national treasures laid the foundation for zhengzhou's status as the shang capital

In a display case in Hall 3 of the museum, a 1-meter-high bronze ding quietly stands, and the excavation of this bronze ding has laid the foundation for the status of Zhengzhou Mall as the capital of the country.

In 1974, a bronze fangding with animal face pattern was unearthed in Zhangzhaiqian Street, Duling, Zhengzhou, also known as Duling Fangding. The Dingtong is 100 cm high, 62.5 cm long, 61 cm wide and weighs 84.6 kg, making it the largest bronze found in the early Shang Dynasty to date. Archaeologist Yang Yubin believes that the shape of the Ding belongs to the Royal Family of the Shang Dynasty, making the position of the Ruins of Zhengzhou Shangcheng as the capital of the early Shang Dynasty more stable. At present, the original of Duling Fangding is stored in the National Museum of China, and although it is only a replica in The No. 3 exhibition hall of the Shangdu Ruins Museum, it is enough to make people feel the power and honor of the Shang Dynasty royal family 3600 years ago.

In addition, in a display case not far from Duling Fangding, there is also a piece of porcelain, a blue-glazed porcelain statue. In contrast to pottery, the porcelain is made of kaolin clay. Under the light, it is obvious that there is a smooth glaze inside and outside the porcelain statue. The production temperature of porcelain zun is even more than 1200 °C, which is much higher than the 800 °C of fired pottery. The excavation of this "original porcelain" in Zhengzhou Mall has advanced the time when China began firing porcelain by more than 1,000 years, which has greatly broadened the horizon of academic research.
