On the evening of October 30, 2021 Co-creation Night, Tianmei announced the first performance trailer of the "Glory of kings" musical "Picking stars", "Fawn Collision".
In just over a minute of teasers, the creative team interweaved elements such as symphony, electronic music, and Chinese musical instruments, and brought a rich audiovisual feast to the audience through projections at the back of the stage and lighting from different angles.
As part of the "Glory of Kings" IP co-creation program, "Picking Stars" is co-created by professional production agency Poly Performing Arts and Tianmei.
It is reported that the musical was created by a front-line international team for 3 years, with "Oriental Fantasy" as the core from both hearing and vision, integrating classical and modern, with diverse styles, with Yao's treasure hunting road as the main line, telling the story of its encounter with heroes and styles in different regions on the way.
"Fawn Collision" is selected from the twenty-fourth scene of "Picking Stars", telling the story of Yao's guidance to the magical Xuanwei Forest, where he meets Yao, and the trees and plants on the stage are designed into abstract and modern irregular geometric structures.
At the same time, this scene extends Yao's psychological space. Through the interlacing of light and shadow and the dim light, the mystery of the woods and the uncertainty of the protagonist about the road ahead are rendered.
In terms of music design, the song "Fawn Collision" interweaves symphony, Chinese elements, and the empty inspiration of the Yun Mengze area, and in the way of expressing the situation, a large symphony orchestra records to express rich emotions and changes in musical structure. Among them, the folk music Flute Xiao is recorded, and a large number of special playing methods are used to add an ancient and mysterious atmosphere. Pop bands set off a sense of modernity and character vibrancy, and the addition of unique electronic sounds adds a sense of atmosphere and a sense of space in the forest.
The strings are delicate and tense, the wood pipes are gorgeous and dexterous, and the brass pipes are magnificent and powerful, expressing rich emotions and changes in musical structure. Harps, vibrato, celestes, music boxes and other instruments with clean tones are pure and beautiful, and also symbolize the fluorescence of the oniguzi.
