On December 20, the Guangdong Provincial Standardization Association issued the group standard of "Functional Technical Requirements for Shoes and Boots", which regulates the functional indicators of 9 types of functional shoes and shoes products such as deodorization, antibacterial and breathable, which will promote these functional shoes and shoes products to be deserved and improve the quality level. It is reported that the standard was jointly drafted by Guangzhou Inspection and Certification Group Co., Ltd. and related enterprises.
The functionality of shoes has become an important consideration for consumers
With the continuous improvement of domestic consumption level, people wear shoes and boots on their feet not only have higher requirements in terms of appearance, protection function and durability, but also the functionality of products has gradually become an important consideration for consumers to buy products. For example, in terms of the deodorization function of shoes and boots, due to the secretion of a large amount of sweat and sebum flakes on the feet, coupled with the fact that the shoe cavity lining is mostly made of natural fibers, together it provides nutrients for the growth and reproduction of bacteria such as bacteria, molds and yeasts, coupled with the high humidity and high temperature of the shoe cavity, making the shoe cavity an environment that is easy to lead to the rapid reproduction of bacteria.
The market survey results show that people over 10 years old account for 1% of people without foot odor, 33% of people with mild foot odor, 48% of malignant foot odor, 7% of wet foot odor, 5% of sick foot odor, 100% of bacteria, foot odor can be said to be a common phenomenon. However, the effectiveness of these functions, whether there is false publicity, whether there is a corresponding assessment method, and how to scientifically evaluate the functionality of the product are all problems that need to be solved urgently.
The testing standards related to the functionality of shoes and boots mainly include product standards and method standards. At present, there is no special functional shoe product standard at home and abroad, some shoes and boots functionality is mentioned in some footwear product standards, but most of them have no specific index requirements or only one or two requirements, and the functional test method standards are incomplete, some functional test methods do not have test methods, and some test methods are not comprehensively evaluated.
These many factors have led to the phenomenon that "functional shoes" do not match the name or even only use "function" as a publicity gimmick. In view of this, it is urgent to formulate a unified and standardized technical requirements standard for functional shoes and boots, and provide reference and basis for enterprise production, consumer purchase and government supervision.

The group standard issued by the Guangdong Provincial Standardization Association, starting from the market demand, selects 9 types of functional products such as anti-slip, waterproof, shock absorption, warmth, breathability, antibacterial, mildewproof, deodorant and aging resistance in the functional shoes and boots, and determines the core technical indicators and inspection and testing methods of its functional core technology one by one.
Among them, where there are relevant provisions on national standards and line standards, the requirements in the national standards and line standards are adopted or adjusted to be higher than the requirements of the national standards and line standards; where the national standards or line standards are not perfected, they are supplemented and improved; where the national standards and standards are not stipulated, they are verified through testing and consultation to determine appropriate indicators. For example, in terms of anti-slip function, the group standard optimizes the test method, adopts the objective friction coefficient method under horizontal pavement conditions and the slope walking method under certain slope conditions to comprehensively test and evaluate, and improves the index requirements. In terms of waterproof function, the group standard determines the index requirements of waterproof function shoes for 10,000 times without water permeability.
Another example is the deodorization function, according to the industry's consensus that the main components of foot odor are ammonia, acetic acid and isovaleric acid, the group standard determines the deodorization function index requirements as follows: ammonia concentration reduction rate of ≥ 80%, acetic acid concentration reduction rate of ≥ 90%, isovaleric acid concentration reduction rate of ≥ 85%. According to reports, products that meet these requirements basically eliminate the odor of the feet. In terms of breathability function, the group standard innovatively combines moisture absorption and breathability together for comprehensive evaluation, improves the evaluation method, and determines the appropriate evaluation indicators to better ensure the realization of the ventilation function.
The core technical indicators of product standards determine the quality of products. The expert group review believes that the group standard stipulates the core technical indicators of functional footwear products, which are both advanced and applicable, provide evaluation basis and technical support for the realization and optimization of shoe functions, and promote the high-quality development of the footwear industry.
