According to previous news, TSMC will invest in Japan to build a factory to produce 22nm and 28nm process chips, the project may be supported and subsidized by the Japanese government, the plant is expected to start construction in 2022, and enter the production stage at the end of 2024, thereby expanding TSMC's overseas production capacity layout.
