He escaped, and fled all the way to Xiamen, ready to find a ship in Xiamen to go to Taiwan, who knew that Xiamen would soon fall, Chen Shizhang naturally could not go to Taiwan, and because Chen Shizhang did not have any news, he had been included in the list of fallen generals, and a plaque was erected for him, which was the second legendary experience of Chen Shizhang's "living martyr".
In 1975, Chen Shizhang was pardoned as a war criminal, and after he was released from prison, he wanted to go to Taiwan to reunite with his relatives, and did not expect Taiwan to refuse his request, and then Chen Shizhang learned that his relatives had settled in the United States a long time ago.
